In what way is signing a player who "doesnt do much apart from get stuck in" a good move as a replacement for Modric?

diarra will tighten up their defence a lot, he is a faster version of mascherano.

the money you get for modric will enable you to buy a world class striker, which is what spurs need badly more than they need modric.

You really need to stop basing your assessments of players on FIFA. :p

Also, if Spurs get £35m for Modric, tell me what world class striker they can sign for that?

Bloody iPad and it's predictive text

I meant If Spurs sell Modric, they'll be left short in midfield let alone up front :)

if niko didn't run like he had treacle under his boots, i would have no fear of losing modric as the bloke is class. we wont crumble without modric, it might even pull us togethor.

I beg to differ. I'm coming around to the idea of flogging Modric as we're more than covered in that area.

Really? Huddlestone, Jenas, Sandro, Diarra (if he signs), Palacios (if he stays) all much of a muchness there IMO (some a lot worse than others). Unless you can convert the likes of Kranjcar or VDV into central midfielders?

I'm happy with any of Huddlestone, Sandro and Kranjcar being the preferred pairing in the centre, with some good talent starting to come through in the form of Livermore and Townsend.

But should Modric go, I'm sure there are plenty of other, cheap options which can be brought in also.

DM: Sorry to break it to you :D

"There is no chance I would walk away", the Arsenal manager said.

As he isn't going to leave we might as well get behind him and our positive thinking will help the team perform better :p

Joe Cole?

Aguero was £35M so was Tevez, so was David Villa.

Offer it to the likes of Inter who made a £65 million loss, im sure they would take it for Etoo or offer £20M for Milito.

Inter really need cash.

And Eto'o etc will be on more than double the wages of Modric. Not that they'd be likely to want to join Spurs anyway.

As others have said, this isn't Football Manager or FIFA.

if you want a world class player you need to pay those types of wages, if they sell crouch, pavy and any other duff striker they have (keane has gone too), they could put those wages towards another player
