****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Any help guys?

Took it off charge this morning at about 7:45am and in that time the battery is down to 90% with only a few texts sent.

This had crept into my VillanRom over the past few days, It seems turning WIFI off helps a lot, Everything was fine for me up until last week, so it may be an app causing it

Whats the best alternative to VillanRom?

Have just flashed the KH3 modem to see if that helps

I want to completely wipe everything from the phone & restart fresh. I have noticed folders & stuff for games/apps i don't even want on the phone no more still there, even after changing roms a few times & using wipe davlik/Wipe Cache.

Is it wipe partition? to delete absolutely everything on the internal & start again?

What are these ROMs everyone is going on about? Like Villainrom?
I had a look on their website but it didn't really explain what it was :P

My SII just arrived according to a text I received from my parents :D

While I'm at the barber waiting to get my haircut :p , do any of you use dynamic for background settings in display? I find it much nicer than standard.

Personally I think it just needs calibrating properly. It's also tricky to say what it should be doing as you don't appear to be using it. 29 hours life is pretty damn good if this is your daily use of the phone.

No, I hadn't used the phone from Saturday to Sunday. I have had 5 days on battery with minimal use so 29hr's is not good. I've had the phone since 3rd May and this is the first time I've had any battery drain that isn't attributable to general use.

I think that looks like the Android 2.3.3 bug where the Android OS eats up the battery (which apparently is fixed in 2.3.4... but debatable).

Try another ROM!

Not using any other Roms at the moment. Still on stock O2. May try CM7 when it's final (this is my first smartphone let alone Android so I'm pretty much content with stock for now).

Going by OCdude's post, it's probably the Android OS bug. The thing that gets me is that it's only become apparent on my phone in the last few days. I've got brightness turned down and have only a handful of app's installed (BBC news, Yahoo Mail, F1, Tesco, TopCashback, eBay, RedLaser and Barcode Scanner).

How do you guys find the standard camera compared to say Camera360? I'm thinking of replacing the original camera entirely with camera360.

Got a new desk stand from mobilefun. Very sturdy and an excellent fit.

Apologies for the dark pics!

I'd like an answer to this as well

Wow, bit of a thread to read on this phone then?!

I've got one of these coming as my upgrade, although I'm in two minds at the moment as to keep it or sell it as my current Desire is fine. it's been ages since I had a new gadget though... :D

Hi i went from a Desire to this...and aint missed my Deisre since.:)
You may miss the HTC style a little bit but once you get up and running you wont miss it at all. I for one like the way THIS phone handles things as opposed to the Desire, this phone wins hands down.

I agree with rapid64k, I also came from a Desire. This phone makes me Desire look like my HTC Touch HD before I went Android. Everything just seems more fluid and snappy. The screen is a step up too. My only concern is battery.

I've been using 2x Battery for a day or two now, can't comment massively on it but it seems to work. Worth a look.

I think the best thing for me is the internal storage, I have so many apps installed now whereas before with the Desire you would have to worry about moving them to the SD card manually or using a ROM add on.

Is 2x an app or two actually batteries on the go ? I've got 51 apps installed and not ONCE have I thought, "damn, not enough space for this one". Gone are those days!

Yeah I'm kidding myself. Already sorted a recycle of the Desire :D

Goodie :-D, you did the right thing. Where'd you send it to Mazuma?

Also, how do I change the colour of the taskbar at the top when in-call? I guess I could just install a new dialer?
