If you can get Bale and Lennon working down the wings, i can see him baggin a mighty few goals!

I'd argue only if his head's right, apart from one season at Arsenal and the first couple of months at City he's never really looked all that interested, If I were a Spurs fan that would be my biggest worry in fact I'd go as far as saying I cant see him being motivated to do well there at all (other than maybe against Arsenal)

Hope I'm proved wrong as I like Tottenham :)

I'd imagine Wenger is concentrating all efforts on M'Vila, not a lot of time left to pull off that one though

wenger needs to be put on gardening leave, genuinely feel sorry for the bloke. i know he's arsenal and all o dat but i don't want to see the bloke get ill

Thing is, he's got quite a decent contract length, Rennes don't want to sell him and said they won't till next year and as it stands M'vila really has nothing to lose by waiting a year and seeing if Arsenal are worth going to, as it would seem like quite a few other clubs could be in for him, and in a years time Arsenal could prove to be the wrong choice for him.

He'd be more of a stemming the tide signing rather than part of a revolution, IE if we were obviously making moves for several players, and had signed anyone ready for the first team already it would look a whole lot better in terms of attracting players.

Then again, maybe we just throw him 100k a week, and next year, sell him for a 200% profit to City.........

Frimpong is awesome. I like how he openly messages promo girls on Twitter too. He is quite obviously looking to drill every single one of them!

Go on Frimpong!

His exchange with Piers Morgan was quite good too :)

Is M'Vila a creative mid, or is that a stupid question, given that we're after him?

I saw the Beeb bothered to print that we were interested in Hazard, which usually means it's already happened when it appears on there.

More defensive supposedly, I hope, and from preseason it did look like Wilshire has been pushed forwards more, where he really is very good, and maybe, for the first time in ages Wenger is going to replace our DM. However I think its just as likely that we'll end up with Song, Wilshire and M'vila/other DM, and that Wenger's next tactic is to go more defensive rather than what would be best(if we had to stay 4-5-1) and have Wilshire, M'vila, Ramsey.

We really need to stop having crap sideways passers who slow down our attacks in central midfield, been just about our biggest problem for 4 years now.

Why don't Wenger just loan Scott Parker for a season, that will give him time to get a few players in January or next season. He would do a good job for the gooners

The rumour is Arsenal are interested in M'Vila and Hazard.

But they are wating to discuss with Arsenal based on the out come of the Udinese game!

Wenger better bring in a CB, before the window closes....

How can he be so negligent... we've needed a CB for years now.

They've been wanting Hazard since January. He won't leave this season.

Signing Silvestre and Squillaci, is far from trying to fix our centback problems... :(

Rumor has it Arsenal may sell Arshavin to Juventus before end of the window...

Now Arshavin on his day is good, but he is not performaing at Arsenal, so ship him off and bring in some one fresh.

Hasn't he spent £25m+ on 3 CBs in the last couple of years? The CB problem is still there but not through a lack of effort on Wenger's part.

Yes but we've bought 3 cb's, while losing 2. Gallas was better than Verm and Toure was similar quality. We've only really ever had 2 decent cb's for years, Verm was finally a third one, so when Toure was injured, we had Verm/Gallas, then we got rid of Gallas and Toure, so when Verm was injured our backup was truly pathetic.

Gallas was free, we could have still gotten 5mil for him if he was on contract, or kept our best CB by simply matching his existing wage rather than give him a slap in the face. Toure we got a huge fee for, and spent less on the two CB's to replace him and neither were anywhere near as good.

Utd have 5 CB's, I would now say 4 solid and one in Evans who is better than all of our backup. Arsenal have 1 solid CB, Kos who might turn good with a real partner, and a couple crap cb's. Chelsea have had 4 cb's between great and very decent the whole time they've been competitive. The one recent season Arsenal had 3 proper CB's, we were also in the process of freezing out Toure and ending up getting shot of him. The last decade we've usually been either in severe need of at least one more quality CB and a lot of that time a second quality one would have only put us on par with most other top teams in the world.

This is something I was literally just thinking about before coming on this thread, we'll loan out players any old place all the time, lots of very good teams loan in other players, but Arsenal can't? Spurs can get Ade, but we couldn't bring in a decent but not first choice left back from somewhere. AS you said, Scott parker on a loan wouldn't be at all a bad idea, cheapish.
