I can't imagine how you managed to get to 20000 posts, on my regular site such talk towards another member wouldn't be tolerated.

God knows, how dare he suggest avoiding an entire company because they did one thing you didn't like is a daft thing to do?

Wait, it is :p

Posted from my Touchpad.

After all the initial rage at CPW for their site going down, their delay e-mails and their cancelled e-mails they have got their act together. Just took them a while to process (understandably) the mass of orders they got.

For my part, an extra has turned up and I am gonna make someone in the "Wanted" forum a happy man. Hopefuly others will do the same rather than give their spares to fictional family members, colleagues, dogs or other nonsense which is code for "I saw the profit margins in ebay and flogged it their rather than here, at cost, like I boldly claimed earlier in the thread" :p

(ignore the spelling errors, I'm posting from a HP TouchPad ;) )

got to say that when I read the anandtech back in July it looked like a good device but too expensive. I have always wanted a tablet but not for 400 quid simples.

Well having secured a Touchpad, I now need to try to secure a Touchstone....lol
Same here... Annoyingly I looked at them early in the week when there was plenty of stock but decided not to take a chance as it looked like my CPW order wan't going to make it.

Hey ho, I'm sure there will be some on Ebay etc eventually, the tablet is the main thing.

Hear, hear... Lovin' your work :D

hi all. first time poster, long time lurker.

got a hard luck story for you.

order number 4884 from CPW. today was meant to be THE DAY. waited and waited, but no shift in my order stage. so I checked the order numbers on either side - they'd both gone to stage 2! so I phone CPW and they say 'there was a problem doing the transaction.. let's try again.'

so I give them a whole new card number. then they tell me some sort of security check has failed. which meant my order was automatically cancelled.

the annoying thing about this is how it has affected my mood. i'm 28 years old for christ's sake. true - at £400 I wouldn't have touched it, and apart from the fact its based on Linux, I didn't see the attraction in webOS. but at £89!? a bargain and a very desirable indeed.

so now I have obviously pledged my allegiance to Satan and have nominated myself for unluckiest guy in the world.

i'm sorry if my number 1 post (potentially last) has depressed you. i really am. now may I please look at your touchpad? shiny! may I touch it? PLEASE may I?

(I'm sorry if this posts more than once. the machines hate me: beep beep)

I just had a gmail pop up notification from My Hub saying Welcome to My Hub, eh wtf is that I thought I checked it and twigged, its the CPW brand online backup service, in my haste to order I forget to cancel it on one of the Touchpads I ordered. Next step was to check the order status.

"Your order has been dispatched. Your order should have arrived on Wed, 24 Aug 2011."

Huzzah or not, I won't believe until it is in my grubby mitts but allow yourself a little hope fellow CPW limbo victims, my order emails went something like this, order received, delayed then cancelled, Wednesday evening around midnight I sent a complaint, woke up today to find acknowledgement that the complaint had been received and that my order status was changed to processing, no email notice of the status change so a day spent in limbo until the My Hub email.

Finally the one we had all been waiting for (okay just me ;)) the dispatch email was sent at ten to seven. Finally can join in thumbing my nose at the have nots:D

"tl;dr" w00t for me, no cartoon description for you

Sorry, I was saying you should sell it to someone in the wanted forum and not stick it on ebay for a quick buck.
Damn, my bad!!! I thought you meant i should sell on ebay!!! Sincere apologies!

I may be new but i'm contributing and i'm not asking anyone for anything. Sorry if I wasnt clear.
Again, apologies. I have no problem with new members, just a few in this thread have tarnished the reputation of other new people (in my opinion).

hi..just joined this forum to pass this on, not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but a few days before the HP price dropped happened, I ordered a 32gb touchpad from tesco.
I contacted their customer services about the drop but was told "no refund"...today I received a call from the same rep and she said something like...There where 18 orders just before the price drop and Tesco have decided as a goodwill gesture to refund the 18 (at least I think it was 18, she was speaking pretty quick) people who had bought the touchpad before the price drop...
Dont know whether this info will be any good to people who have bought or will buy from tesco, but refunding 18 peeps, could set a precedent.
Posting it on here as this forum enabled me to get a second touchpad after the price drop (for my bruv).
Ive also got one on order using the "dodgy" link..if it comes thru, then will sell it same price as I got it for to someone on here (not sure how I decide who though and how I do this!)

sorry about the lengthy and rambling post!

btw. something I've been wanting to say for a while. the mystery of why CPW cancelled orders and then dispatched them - did those effected happen to press the submit order button more than once? it probably cancelled the phantom order only, leaving you with something legit.
