Upto 5 players, depending on if they are called up/their teams qualify.
Traoré
Frimpong
Song
Chamakh
Gervinho
At this rate I can barely see many of those playing almost at all this year. Chamakh will be riding the bench anyway, players are likely to target the seemingly quick to react Gervinho and Song/Pong I think will be getting a lot more yellows/reds this season, Traore just sucks balls.
As for pricing, people seem to be somewhat missing the point on Cahill, if Cahill would be worth say 18mil if he had a 4 year contract, and 5mil would be a good price in his last season, thats fine. If we'd have excepted sub 10mil for Nasri we'd have a leg to stand on, maybe. But unfortunately we just took 24mil, for a guy who clearly wanted out, when in reality 6-7mil in his final year would have been fair market value.
So what do we say to Bolton, errm, we can hold up clubs for more, but you can't?
End of the day Nasri should have been, max 8 mil, and Cahill should be 5-6mil due to last year of their contracts. So in reality, 17mil buyout on Cahill, we got 24mil for Nasri...... we're still coming out with more money than we should so I really can't see the problem in spending.
But its Wengers way, haggle over price and ridiculous add ons for years on end then miss out on players. He's got a 17mil buyout in his contract, supposedly, I reckon a PROPER offer of 12-15mil would get him quite easily.
People also need to realise, theres another transfer window before his contract is up, so they aren't that desparate. City, Utd, Chelsea, anyone could have a CB out with an ACL injury by Jan and be desparate for a CB.
The main problem still remains, if Wenger insists on negotiating for months on end, why not start 2 months ago rather than, yesterday.
2 months ago no one knew we had at least 150mil cash in the bank(we had over 100mil in bank accounts for the club that we keep to generate interest on, as do Utd, Chelsea), we're almost certainly a few days from being with 1 point in 3 games, with a weak squad and severely lacking numbers, with a number of players out.
Desparation + money = no good deals for Arsenal. If we bought 2 months ago, we wouldn't be so desparate now and wouldn't be forced to pay extortionate prices.
Theres a reason anyone with real ambition got most of their dealings done really early in the transfer window.
