*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

One thing I find intriguing, seems a lot of the maps they took a small part from one of the original game levels - can be as simple as a corner in a corridor or just the layout of one room - and built a whole new map around it. Loads of little nods to the original game some more obvious than others.

That's pretty cool that.

I know the entire played through both Deus Ex and Invisible war, to see what was good, and what was bad, and bring it to the new game :)

I really loved it. Just need a day or so off, so I can start back and attempt the game Pacifist, on hardest difficulty. And maybe avoid all alarms :p I got annoyed towards the end, and pretty much just Typhoon'd everything. It's awesome for bosses. Might be my strategy next time on all bosses

Yeah he sends you an email telling you to go tp his apartment. I got a silencer and some ammo from him

Really liking this atm. I found that turning the dof right up really improves the visuals for me for some reason.

I am trying for a non-lethal playthrough, but i remembered that i killed some guys in the prologue, i suppose they count? (i could understand if they didn't really)

I've put my first two points in to an extra cell and hacking.

I doubt the intro enemies count because you simply aren't geared towards being able to avoid them.

Yeah I finally got around to hacking into my own computer (lvl3 lock with 500xp worth of bonus'? Awesome) and read the email. Then I wandered over to his apartment (which I had already raided :p) and got a rather useless tip about a gun-runner and a discount when he had nothing worth buying (and again, I'd already nicked everything from the room). Oh well, biggest profit was the exp from 'completionist'.

I don't really see the point in the extra cells unless you have a metric ton of Energy Bars to use. I just don't get why you can't regenerate more than 1 bar. Starting off a mission with slightly more doesn't really help if you use Takedowns often. Hacking is awesome though, but you really need to get lvl3 Stealth Add-on too as some locks are just plain evil without it.

I would imagine the intro enemies don't count, but it does say "execpt for bosses" in the achievement i believe.

I put a point into extra cells, but i think i will concentrate on stealth and hacking from now on(hacking is brilliant). I also have a lot of weapons mods as well, but hardly any of them can be added to the tranq rifle so pretty useless for my non-lethal playthrough lol.

I am still playing through the original whilst playing this too and i really think that this is a worthy sequel, it captures so much of the spirit and atmosphere of the first game.

btw, later in the game, do you have cameras and such to hack, as i have not come across any yet and it was something that worked really well in the original, hacking and disabling cameras/turrets etc through computers or directly

Cheers, looks like I better find my apartment

You get directed there eventually. I believe you can store items anywhere though, they won't despawn.

Yeah you can hack turrets and so on.

The games good, however is anybody else getting stuttering???

i get 60+ fps then suddenly when it see's something new i.e a wall my fps drops down to aorund 27-30 fps, anybody else get this and has anybody found a fix to this problem?

I have played a few hours I am feeling the urge to start over now I know what I am doing. I missed out on a side quest because I was shipped off to another area and in another I made a has of the dialogue.

The best way to take down those huge robots is to use 1 emp grenade OR get a revolver and upgrade it to explosive rounds, all you need to is 5-6 shots and it just blows up.

There are camera's that you can shut off but I haven't seen a great deal of turrets or robots so I've completely ignored that route.

Given that bosses need a lethal approach its worth dumping all your upgrades into 1 weapon. I'm working on a super pistol atm. With its Silencer it is awesome for non-lethal playthroughs. A single shot behind a target in a problematic position will make them turn around, works even better combined with Reflex Booster if there are 2 of them but stood in an awkward spot.

My 10mm pistol has the laser sight, extra clip and silencer(and something else i can't remember) and my tranq rifle has the quick reloading which is handy as they are single-shot. 10mm pistol will be the only lethal weapon i will use in the game probably(and only if i have to:p) so that's getting all my upgrades.
Another advantage of doing this is the extra credits you get from selling your better weapons:D

Reflex booster will be my next upgrade probably as i have put a few points in to cloak as well so i will see how it goes, it was a no brainer reallu for a stealth playthrough.

I'm sure i have missed quite a lot already, but i don't mind as i will definitely play through again so i'll find everything to do then
