What film did you watch last night?

Ca$h.

Sean Bean playing pretty much in character, no depth to it, couldn't get beyond while watching it 'there's no way he can get away with this'.

That said, it's good for an hour just watching Bean talk nice nasty:)

The Perfect Host - 7/10

Synopsis:

A bank robbery goes a bit wrong for John, who ends up being made far earlier than he hoped, and injured in the process. He decides to try and take refuge in a random neighbours house in order to clean himself up, but his host turns out to be a bit more than meets the eye.

I really only watched this movie because it has David Hyde Pierce in it, who I'm a bit of a fan of. :) From the trailers it looked like a throwaway movie, with only one semi big name in it, and a lacklustre plot. I was quite surprised though, not what I expected, and had a couple of big twists in it that kept me entertained.

9 - Brilliant animated film with a little heart warming storyline. Great animation work and the musical score was good too. Still a bit odd but well worth an 8/10

Shutter - Recorded this last week and watched it today but to be honest really wasn't wasting valuable megabytes for. No real scares and most of what was there has been done before and Joshua Jackson just needs a punch in the heeeeed !! 2/10

Battleground - Minus 5 Billion/10, it's not thats it's "so bad it's good", it's appalling full stop. I actually thought it was a high school film project or something.

Tucker & Dale Vs Evil - 5/10 only just watchable because of Alan Tudyk's character. It's a good idea of reversing the idea of "College kids in hillbilly territory" and making the hillbillys the good guys but it's just just a poor script with poor acting from the majority. Some funny bits though!

Watched a documentary, The wildest dream, conquest of everest. Tells the story of George mallory's 1924 attempt to climb mount everest, and how modern day everest expert, Conrad anker attempts to free climb the notorious second step, an obstacle that many think would have been impossible to climb in mallory's day, asks the question of wether or not mallory may have made it to the summit almost thirty years before Hilary. 9/10

Very true, it was a great documentary! Astounding Irvine and Mallory did what they did with the equipment they had!

I have to say I do think they did it, they probably knew they weren't coming back down though and such a shame it's not been proved one way or the other.

It's kind of a funny story

filmchasing on IMDB reviewed it perfectly, exactly how I felt about it.
The music was more notable than most films of this style of direction as well. Not the genre I normally listen to but I felt positive and somehow enriched as it played through the various parts of the movie.

A depressed teen admits himself into a psych ward & meets some colorful folks.

Complex issues switched up and told in a free-spirited way. There's nothing sugar-coated about these characters, which is probably why I like them so much. Pluses for having them relate to our current society; these characters could be someone on your own street.

With a narrative & creative style similar to 500 Days of Summer, this is an oddly inspirational tale.

Comic relief provided by the excellent Zack Galifianakis.

Great music, great film!

Such a tragic story from the golden era of exploration, id like to think that they made it as well, but sadly we may never know. A few years ago i bought the book, everst, the summit of achievment. It contains some stunning images captured by mallory's team on their various trips to the mountain.

Last night - The Thing. Pretty disgusting, but smart enough with it. The paranoia is very effective.

Tonight - the Lorna Doone tv series from 2000. Pretty good. Lots of famous faces in there.

Thor

Story line needs no explaining as I am sure everyone has heard of or already seen it. Myself, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. Action packed throughout, good plot, acceptable acting and top notch CGI. In all a brilliant film receives a recommendation from me.

Everything Must Go

Will Ferrell a recovering alcoholic, relapses, causing him to get fired, loose his wife and have all of his possessions along with himself kicked out of the house onto the front lawn. Over the duration of the film he battles with his problems and opt's for a new start prompting a yard sale where "Everything Must Go." A more serious role from Ferrell and would go so far to say, one of his better attempts. A film which I watched, just because I was bored but ended up really enjoying. A good little film and definitely worth a view if you have some time on your hands.

Decided to indulge a bit of Cold War nostalgia this afternoon. Ah, those were the days. Kids don't know they're born etc....

The Bedford Incident - 7/10

Talk about a 'Oh, to hell with it' ending. :D

I'll try a bit of Fail-Safe later.
