Sky Sports reporting Arsenal are in talks with Hargreaves.

DO NOT SIGN HIM!

If he is on a pay to play deal then why not? It's not like you have a lot of options and it would only be on a year contract. If he doesn't play then he costs you nothing and doesn't keep anyone else out. Same as Owen for United.

lol mertesacker is a mountain :D

Really happy with the Hargreaves signing, can provide some great cover for midfield and has a lot of champions league experience, something Barry/Milner dont have.

It will be a pay as you play i imagine so we really cannot lose on the deal.

Wouldn't mind Hargreaves on a pay as you play deal, he could be a good acquisition and he'd bring some much needed experience and a winning mentality.

EDIT: Has he signed for City now then?

Can't really see the point in Hargreaves going to City, surely he needs first team football. A move to someone like West Brom on a pay as you play deal would be perfect as he could go to a Champions League team in January if he plays a lot of games.

Arsen to break the bank :D

Under-fire Arsene Wenger bowed to fan pressure for silverware today and made an audacious bid for Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

After losing 8-2 to the Red Devils, Wenger finally succumbed to fan pleas to spend big to win trophies and put in a offer of £32million to the Old Trafford hierarchy in a bid to get his man.

“I believe Sir Alex has the qualities we need to win trophies,” said a philosophical Wenger as he faced the press after his team’s mauling at the hands of Man U.

“He has not only spent big, but has also spent wisely. He could well do a job for us as we look to win some silverware.”

It is understood Wenger has offered himself up as a make-weight in the deal.

“For us to concede five goals to Manchester United in one game shows Sir Alex has what it takes to move Arsenal onto the next level,” said Wenger.

When it was pointed out Arsenal conceded eight goals, the Frenchman replied: “I saw only five. So it was five-two in my book.”
