That's because that part of the mental health issue is being abused... Say for example mr joe ends up being naughty but they find out he has aspergers a mental problem. He gets a warning and let off... Suddenly everyone is using that excuse and now aspergers/autism is getting a bad rep!

You should NOT be able to use the autism/aspergers line unless diagnosed previously

It's not incorrect at all. It doesn't make doing certain things acceptable, it simply explains why some people have certain thought processes. It isn't an excuse for unacceptable behaviour and neither should it be. Too many people use it as such and feel that because they've been diagnosed they can just use it as crutch to lean on.

It is perfectly possible to have a normal life with normal relationships without getting yourself arrested after having been diagnosed with something like Aspergers. It just requires effort and an understanding that it doesn't excuse you from the standards everyone else is held to.

I agree but this particular offense has no correlation to asperger.

Someone who has autism would not go out there way to do what he done.

Its like saying he has agoraphobia....what the hell does agoraphobia have to do with this crime?
 
He should not have been given the jail term, his system should've been taken and banned from the internet for many months.

An autistic person goes mad without the internet ;)

Most likely he became abnormally intense and focused in what he was doing, which ofcause was wrong but again it's an autistic sign. But he shouldn't be able to use it if he hasn't been diagnosed previously.

I said he showed signs of it, but he should not be able to use autism/aspergers if he wasn't previously diagnosed.

You think you have aspergers, whereas I DO have aspergers... I know that i deal with things differently than everyone else and i deal with people differently and sometimes that gets me into trouble. Through banning, suspensions, fighting and even being called racist :rolleyes:

But hey it's an excuse

I didn't ignore it but i had not responded to it.. Yes it's unacceptable but an autistic/aspergers person is far more likely to do something like that, that's why at school they try to stop autistic kids from getting with the wrong crowd.

P.s Again I don't agree with what he did in the crime and his excuse, but unless you actually have an autistic mind you'll never know.
