You seem to think it's some sort of badge of honour. I'm suprised to see somebody so willing to broadcast it over the internet

Where are you getting that from?

Do people troll funerals in reality?

Care to explain your 'reasoning' further?

If arrests and sentencing were consistent and not just pursued by the police/CPS as and when they feel like it, then a fair chunk of internet users would have a criminal record.

The guy was an idiot, but terrible things are said by thousands of internet users daily - so why pick this guy out of the bunch? Because they felt like it? Slow day at the police station?

I'd wager that a judge would not be aware of places like 4chan, and that makes him ignorant of what really goes on online.

As much as people like to think the internet is some lawless wasteland where they can get away with anything. It never has been.

If you have evidence of what was said, physical (photographs) and witnesses, then it will be treated as a criminal issue, surely?

Most people just don't bother though because all it takes is a delete here and there or just to simply close the browser.

And there are others who want blood because of the offending party. And they have the right to chase them.

But seriously, who here bothers with that after a trollwar? :p

Why should he have to be aware of 4chan?

Just because it happens on a widescale amongst the kind of ***** that place attracts, doesn't make it any more acceptable.

Who said anything about it being acceptable? Did you read my post or did you just read what you thought was there?

Probably because they had a great deal of evidence against him, he systematically and consistently committed a rather disgusting crime, they knew who he was, they knew where he was and people complained to the police about his actions.

Let's be clear about something here; he isn't just an 'idiot', slagging someone off in Motors, his was a very real and premeditated crime. Real crimes are very really punished!

Thousands more like him online and will never hear a peep.

I'll disregard the "disgusting crime" comment because that is an emotional response (which unfortunately is my gripe with ignorant judges)

Just look at the Malicious Communications act; read it carefully. In layman's terms: A person is guilty of an offence if he communicates something offensive (or makes a threat) if the purpose is to cause distress or anxiety.

How ambiguous is that? Not to mention completely open to interpretation. How many times have you seen someone write threats about how they are going to knock someone out or similar? They have committed a criminal offence (or "very real crime" as you put it) and should be arrested, right?

Is it right that the police only chose to deal with offences that they deem to be more serious? If someone picks the lock to your house but only steals a cup of tea and a biscuit - well that's ok, it wasn't as serious as clearing the entire house so no need for the police to do anything. Who decides where the line is?

I despise the "make it up as we go along" attitude from the authorities and judges who have great power but sit up there and pass judgement on rare crimes, without taking any advice from an expert in that particular field.

Badge of Honour?

meh, twisting my words again.. Why is this forum so bad for that :p

What, you mean like

"**** **** ****"

"why are people calling me racist, I don't understand, herp derp"?

I think you have it in your head that you're coming across in a certain way, and you're just not.

I don't even know why I'm bothering to respond considering how you'll probably whinge about words being put in your mouth again and ignore the actual point.

I guess you could call him a retard as long as you don't mean it derogatory. Just like him using **** in a 'non racist way'.

You cannot self diagnose yourself with an autistic spectrum disorder, contrary to the opinion of, it would seem, half the internet.

Anyway regardless of me study what autism is and it no way causes people to make effort to record videos and create websites to mock dead people. That is psychopathy not autism.

Someone with autism would have no interest in doing this for any reason autistic

Oh boo hoo, this society cant take offence anymore, im not surprised.

Its funny that people get serious when they can get something out of it, but when its inconvenient, they just have no memory of it.
