****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I will keep a closer eye on it. Unless I use the phone for some sort of data it always sits on 3G (which seems normal, based on a Myshra's posts further above).

I guess I could have been in such areas and not known as I have not tried to access the internet. Also I am on Orange, not sure if they support these higher speeds.

rp2000

they dont support H+ as far as i know. I'm on orange too and i've never seen it. Orange isnt the fastest network if you want transfer speeds anyway.

whats the current in vogue rom?

i want something without too much theming, fast, with battery tweaks and stable?

Is cm7 usable daily yet? id need it to work with a car kit

You know what, apart from just wanting root so I can modify files myself I'm not too fussed about stock ROMs any more, too many quick changes too often for me to keep up to date and then when a new version comes out there can be bugs as I have found in various ROMs so I will just await an official 2.3.4/5 and once it's rooted with su/busybox I will just use that and strip out what I don't need and install what I do (sound mods, camera mods etc).

Thankfully I have a lot of the mods as flashable zips from various ROMs so all should be smooth.

Or just stick with GingerMOD 0.3 that I'm currently on as it has everything good :p

I'm really fed up with Vodafone now, still no replacement handset. Reading MSE forums, looks like it's going to be an uphill struggle!

wut. you flash a new rom every day:p I like stock roms because the updates are not too frequent!

I've tried most ROMs on xda. They're all much the same but I come back to Cognition every time because it has minimal theme tweaks. Some of the other ROMs look like the themes have been done by a 90s Geocities designer

Having said that, GingerMOD 0.4 looks excellent

If you haven't already done so, it might be worth raising your concerns on the 'official' Vodafone Forum (http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Samsung-Galaxy-Series/bd-p/159).

The Web Relation Team / Moderators on there are very helpful, espeially with offering good early upgrade deals, but they will usually respond to problems such as you are experiencing also.

Good Luck! :)

I've been waiting patiently to order this phone for about a month, now I'm getting to the end of my tether, just waiting for a cheque to clear (since 12th).

Going SIM Free @ £419, then onto the giffgaff £10 goodybags.

Also getting £80 from recycling my old blackberry (Too much hassle selling it on the bay), which I was hoping would put my mind at ease about the cost, but the majority of it has gone on accessories :D.

I still can't choose a case/screen protector though. I do quite fancy a dock too. :(

Fantastic device.

T-mobile cap there mobile internet speeds to 350kbps, unless you pay to have it increased, so the difference between 3G and H is quite small.

I was in that situation. Phoned up and complained and after a bit of customer service chat i got through to uk tech support and they changed my profile so i got faster speedas.

BIG difference going from 350/70 to 1900/500 nearly 6 times faster now so wouldnt call that a small difference? :)

Well worth the time spent sorting it out.
