****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Has anyone had problems with the Market being incredibly slow recently? Sometimes just timing out completely. Running CM7.

Mine is occasionally when using data rather than wifi, but that could simply be that I have a poor connection speed (only happened on the train). Using wifi I've had no problems at all.

Got it, a shiny white Galaxy S2, looks quite nice. This will be my phone for the next few weeks possibly months and then I will give it to the wife, sold my iPhone 4 and got this instead because she didn't want the iPhone.

The quality difference between this and the iP4 is instantly noticeable, this does seem really flimsy in comparison especially the back, when I took it off I thought it was gonna snap into pieces :/ First Android device for me anyway, this will probably help me decide whether or not my next phone is iP5.

Had a 8GB memory card so stuck that in. Will order a case this weekend. I saved all my contacts from my iP4 to windows contacts, anyone know how to copy them from there to the S2???

Get yourself a gmail account, sync to that on the iphone and then syc it back on the android or save out your contacts as a csv file, sync that to gmail and sync back to the android phone. It's pretty easy.

It does feel amazing :)

Remember, you're not looking to get your contacts onto the phone, you're looking to get them into Gmail. That might help you...

If i hear this one more time i'll scream.

Did I take it off wrong? I never ever bother to read through instruction manuals I just yanked it off with my nail. Maybe I did it wrong though but I couldn't see any way of getting it off.

Cracking deal I got though, 12 months @ £30/month and £100 for handset. :D

Nah, that's how you get it off, you won't break it though, you can bend it in half and it's fine.

I don't understand your complaint about build quality, the SGS2 has excellent build quality, weight!=build quality, nor does being plastic mean that it's poorly built or going to break if you hold it wrong.

After getting used to the weight of this phone every other phone I've held since feels horrible. I'd take a plastic phone over a metal one every time, assuming it's built as well as this one.

The SGS2 is very well built but it doesn't ooze quality like the iPhone 4. It's not as satisfying to hold. I'm pretty sure that's what he means!

This, and it doesn't matter how much of a fan or hater you are of Apple, it's quite simply the truth. BTW I should point out I normally give my honest opinion on any device as I see it, I have no brand loyalty at all. I owned the iP4 since launch and have a good idea of the things I liked and disliked about it. The S2 is my first Android device, and hopefully in a month or so I should have a better idea of which phone I shall get next. I can't justify owning 2 top of the range phones like some people ;)

I think it's a fair assumption that when someone comments on the build quality of the SGSII that they can only be saying how amazing it is.

I played with the Sensation, SGS2 and iPhone before ordering the S2 and I can see why everyone comments about the SGS2 not feeling as well built but I actually liked the light weight feeling of the phone.
