****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Yeah i think the phone looks better with the extended back and apparently the battery is more efficient then the original as tests on XDA have shown it gives ~25% better battery life.

Is the battery available anywhere other than mobilefun?

I had a quick 'Google' earlier, and nothing came up at all, other than a few Chinese copies! :(

I would still like to know what these magic codes are too, so as to bring the price down a bit! :)

Oops... just realised that I had entered the wrong part number.... there are indeed some other suppliers in the UK, but none appear to have any stock at the moment.

Estimated availability dates range from 1st October to 1st November, so it's anyone's guess really.

I suggest you look on XDA there is a thread dedicated to the battery there as the 2 other suppliers that i know off are competitors.

The fact, 25% increase of 1650 milliamps is not 2000... Plus it charges faster watt per watt then the original.

i dont think anybody is worried about the difference between 21% and 25% somehow. Though noted the battery seems to be a little more efficient from testing against the 1650mAh battery; due to the nature of batteries that could simply be down to those tested at the time and looking at that XDA thread, most people are saying 20% improvement, not 25%. If it makes much of a difference, of course.

Sorry Muzza, missed your post there. Anything based on android 2.3.5. So that's the leaked XXKI3 from samsung, the latest Darky rom, the latest cm7 nightly build (i believe...you'd have to check that). Lots of information available over at XDA

yeah the latest Cm7 is based on KI3

edit: Since KI3 the usb jig doesn't allow you to reset the binary counter, and so you can flash the old bootloader via Odin. Anyone know if you have to do this with CM7?

I am right in thinking, aren't I, that removing and replacing (or changing) the battery while the phone is turned off, won't effect or change anything at all App wise... or will it?

Thanks! :)

No it won't.

Morning guys,

Just got a Sure Signal box from Vodafone, working perfectly, getting awesome speeds from it.

Only thing is - for some reason the Comics/DC Comics apps from Comixology just don't work when connected via Sure Signal.

Rest of Apps that use data are fine - any clues?

Hey peeps, just got my self one of these phones. My first ever android phone and I'm well pleased.

I was just wondering what's the best apps to use for it?

Thanks.

Anyway to back up before rooting? Got a few games I'd like to save progress on, but if I can't then it's no great loss. Always used Titanium but obviously need root for that.
