I got some stick for starting a thread about a train day rover that we get now and again(£9.50 for 2 in west yorkshire) tbh all transport and engineering interests me ,when i get home from going on a certain train (the last was a class 180 (james herriot ,grand central), i find out the engine details ect
I wish the UK would hurry up and implement ERTMS properly. It would be hugely beneficial to the public transport network. The high speed networks and trains themselves over in the continent and in Japan etc are extremely impressive.
Granted, its a huge undertaking in terms of infrastructure, given that the majority of the country's signalling gear is literally 40+ years old...
