If any of you got the chance to play Caspian Border, you'd realise this is good despite the bugs, and Rush originated from Bad Company.

Yeah I despise rush in comparison to conquest. Does not bring the BF feel to the game. Rush is for console and cs junkies, the maps are linear and boring, vehicles controls just plain suck compared to BF2. Eliminating the health bar... lets cater to casual ****s Eliminate the commander... oh god why? Hopefully they will squad management back, can't see why they would not, but wouldn't put it past them to eliminate that too.

When I had that issue with no identifiers I only used default servers. I didn't touch any of the modded ones.
 
I'm enjoying the beta, although it obviously needs quite a lot of work it is still good fun for the most part. However, no point posting in this thread without a little grumble is there, so here are the top 6 things that are annoying me:

1. Emptying 2 full magazines of 5.56 ammo from an M4/M16/HK416 into someone at 30 feet (and getting tons of 'hit indicators' flashing up), for them to turn round and single-shot kill you with a Glock 18. Then they apparently have 100% health...

2. PKP PECHENEG or whatever the hell that ridiculous LMG is that everyone is now using. Looks like it was made from scrap parts of a G36, famas, m249 and an SVD. Spams a billion rounds a minute with sniper rifle accuracy, even if you're running.

3. Gun balancing in general. i.e. the UMP45 takes people down far easier than a HK416. .45 ACP vs 5.56mm?! Similarly, if someone is standing against a wall and you impact a RPG/SMAW rocket 2 foot to the side of their head, it doesn't kill them.

4. Going prone behind a 1.5 foot thick concrete wall and still getting shot by an enemy 50m away through the wall.

5. Being blinded by a flashlight in broad daylight.

6. If you can only see the very tip of an enemies head above a wall and their gun is therefore behind said wall, HOW THE HELL ARE THEY SHOOTING YOU!?! Do the bullets project from their forehead?! I've watched team-mates do the same thing too, their gun is not above the wall, yet they're racking up the kills.

Bonus moan: People not realising BFBC2 is not BF2. BF2 was far better :)
 
After playing for a few days heres my views on the beta:

Graphics - Quite nice, but not as eye candy as the videos/pictures of the game we was promised, even when turned up on ultra.
If you remember/played the crysis beta, i think i got more of a wowza factor from the crysis beta rather than playing bf3 beta graphics wise.
8/10

Gameplay - Though its a beta, there are bugs, and in this beta we haven't seen anything really compaired to how big bf3 will be with the vehicles etc, the gameplay is good, feels more precise than any shooter iv played lately.
9.5/10

Audio - Can't say anything apart from its great.
10/10

Will i buy it? Yes :)

Ultra settings are definitely different to high, no doubt about it.

I'm also loving the game! They seem to have resolved most of the falling through map bugs recently aswell as that has not happend in a while.

It also runs really well with my 2 x 6870s with most settings on ultra.

I really cant wait for the full release!

And too the above post, BF3 looks much much better!
 
Gfx: 9/10 but really needs bugs and stability fixing.

Gameplay: 6/10 from the maps I have played it's not great IMO

Audio 10/10 the audio really is stunning IMO.

The health bar has been replaced by a health percentage, how is this worse? :)
 
Switching weapons seems to fix it.

Yep, got me killed a few times though when Ive attempted to scope in one someone and then got baffled as to why it isn't working.

People saying that it doesn't look any better than BC2 either need to get to specsavers or they are playing the console version. This is a beta. Ultra settings don't do anything. The Final release will look better.

You're missing all the details. The character models and textures look better. The lighting is lovely. Smoke and particle effects are better. When you fire a rocket down the tunnel you see how it lights up the surroundings.

Think about this, Most people are running this at decent frame rates on average cards. With a single 580GTX it runs great with everything maxed to the limits of the beta. DICE said that to run this at ultra you will need 2 580's in SLi. Surely that shows the scope for improvement with the final release?
 
It's all down to personal perference. I think those BF:BC2 shots on Goons monitor are brilliant, but i still prefer BF:3 graphics.
 
So why are people still blabbing on that ultra is not in the beta.


As for BC2, BF3 is by far the better looking game, one go on caspian shows this.

It's hard to say whether it's Multisampling affecting the quality or higher resolution textures.

I don't really see much difference between High and Ultra apart from reduced aliasing.


Said in the article that the differences between high and ultra are subtle.
