********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

Is there really that many of you wanting to chop in your iPhone 4 for one of these?? At those prices?? Seriously?? Am I missing something? Maybe I just have more sense than money :p

Its twice as fast with a better camera (and maybe more ram?)

For the sale value of an iphone 4, you can pay £100 more for a 4S

so yes

Went for a 16GB Black (G/F getting a white). Can't justify more than 16GB, since leaving jailbreaking behind and with iCloud / Streamtome / 64GB iPad, loads of storage seems a waste.

£100 more?? How are you selling an old iphone 4 for £400...?

I'm only putting a few hundred in to my iPhone 4S if I sell my 4 :)

It's a worthy upgrade, it's basically a refresh like Apple do, same case updated insides.

I was hoping for a new case, but I'm still upgrading.

It's just a bit like upgrading parts of your insides in your computer, without getting a new case.

Can anyone tell me what my O2 32GB in Mint condition might be worth on ebay ?

I just cant see it worth while an upgrade for me , I am out of contract at the end of November with O2 and to take a new 18 month contract would cost the following .

Contract Option (based on Vodaphone I-Phone 4s tariffs )32GB I phone 4s Model
£18x36= £648+259Puchase cost =£907

Outright Purchase +PAYG DATA PLAN TYPE SIM 32GB I phone 4s Model
£599 for the phone +18 x £15 ( similar type non conract tariff ) = £599+270= £869

Really need to know what the I phone 4 32 GB will be worth in MM or Ebay I suppose as a contract is looking promising again .

At a guess £300 so :
Purchase £869-£300= £569 ( less ebay fees )
Conract £907-£300= £607 (less ebay fees )

Damm this phone is so expensive, anyone want suggest something else for me ? OTHER THAN A GALAXY

Anyone ??? Help

Some of us are still using a 3GS.

This is easily the longest I've ever used a phone on a regular basis. It must be well over 2 years now.

Just gone for the 64gb 900minute 18month contract with vodafone. I persoanlly thought their deals were quite good.

I currently pay £20/month for a rolling 30 day contract with 600 minutes, I know you can get better deals, but I've previous had a very bad experience with one of the less established provides.

If I purchased the iphone out right, over 18 months it would have cost £1059
On an 18month contracy with 900 minutes it comes in at £988, this includes a £59 discuount for pre ordering today. Oddly it's cheaper over the lenght of the contract to take 900 minutes as opposed to 600!

This seems like a reaonable deal to me. By signing up to a contract I save £71, gain visual voice mail and spread the cost of the hardware over 18 months. The cheapest 30 day contract with data seems to be around £10, this equates to a £109 saving over 18 months. I'm more than happy to pay that (£6/month) to stay with a more reliable carrier (by that I mean one that is less likely to steal from you), spread the cost of the hardware and get visual voice mail. The only significant restriction is that I can't sell the hardware, which considering I'm still on a 3G is unlikely to be a problem.

I'm still on my iPhone 3G, nevermind the 3GS. I desperately need the upgrade. Waiting to see what 3's deals are like before I decide whether to purchase the phone and go sim-only, or contract.

No it doesn't. With all previous iPhone releases, they've been delivered on launch day. I expect my phone to be on my desk on the 14th and I'll be mighty peeved if it isn't.

Thanks Feek - I've queued up in the past, iP/iPad but with a 8am launch I'm not sure how early I would have to get there for I suppose :D

What are people getting for their iP4 32Gb? I wanna skip the launch model for now unless people are finding it only a small upgrae cost?

For me it seems to be £400 to move to the iP4S 64Gb - not sure if Im tempted...

So I ended up ordering 2 - not sure how as never actually refreshed any pages, they timed out or got errors. Anyhoo, now I can't cancel through phone or online and I don't have enough funds in my account. A little stressed right now.

I just ordered a 64GB Black one from the apple store. It was a worrying when I got the error message after placing my order (~9.30am) but the order went through it seems and is in my account page.

I also went with applecare (as it is pretty great and I did make use of it with my iphone 3G) and a new mini-USB to iPhone adapter.

Personally, I'm trading up from a very well used iPhone 3G, so I reckon the jump in performance will be be pretty nice (my mum is getting my 3G).

I'm sticking with the o2 iphone simplicity 20 package I started a couple of years ago (£20.42/month, 600minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data, no tethering). For my uses it does the job well, gives me a lot of flexibility and is a bit cheaper than going with a new o2 contract (taking into account the cost of the phone and monthly payments for 24 months), assuming iPhone 4S contract pricing is similar to the iPhone 4 .

I just got quoted £290 for my iPhone 4 32Gb on a Recycling site. I know you might be able to get more Via eBay but in my opinion its not worth the hassle and plus eBay fees.

Does anyone know - do Orange normally offer Friends and Family discount on the iPhone? Will it be available from the start?

Thanks.

Not sure but when I called an Orange store, I asked if the 25% local government discount would apply to the iPhone 4s, they lady said that the discount applies to all iPhone Tariffs. So here's hoping.

I have reserved one for £20 which is refundable. If I get the discount i'll take it, if not I will get a refund. Nothing lost nothing gained. :)
