Just got my S2 on Three, Not even got any app's or anything yet, but just from a few calls and texts it seem's absolutely fantastic compared to my Desire!!

Only problem was the Missus talked me into getting her one while I was getting mine, DOH.
 
Grr, I can't update to 2.3.5 on my SG2 with Vodafone. I go to check updates on the phone and it doesn't pick any up & I also try it with Kies and still no update is found.

Any idea how I can get 2.3.5? Or isn't it out yet for Vodafone?
 
Just rooted mine. Followed the instructions and it all went smooth. Question which may seem silly but I will ask anyway as I'm unsure and this is the first android device I have owned (and first time I have rooted)...
Is it advised to reload a secure kernal? I haven't done so yet and won't bother unless I must?

Will try install CM7.1 tonight
 
Nah, you can carry on using CF-Root kernel :).

Ross: See my posts a few pages up, they're the links for KI3 (Android 2.3.5) either already rooted or as stock. Just download whichever you prefer and follow the guide in the link :).
 
Just looked through Leomars rom kitchen. Is there any particular kernal that I should have included when I cooked the rom? I didn't select one because I presumed it would use a default one for the rom..

edit: Just realised the rom includes CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KI3-v4.1.. my bad :)

O2 hasn't even had 2.3.4 yet, hopless.
 
XDA is really getting retarded now. I really think they should stop letting every moron on the planet join up and have posting privileges straight away. Make it so when they join they have to wait a month or two before they can post. This way they'll learn to search the damn forum or learn to use Google before asking stupid questions over and over. </rant off>
 
I don't bother checking there for new threads any more in the dev sections, just only catch up with updates to whatever ROM I am using and maybe any other ROM people seem to talk about here. Everything else is filled with noob-rubbish that is already answered!
