Is that not because you've flashed a modem from a different territory? UK is XX not XW, I am using XXKI4.

XW is UK. Modems don't change the font. KI4 has a different font.

what modem is everybody using? i updated using Kies and it went to xkkI1 and i couldn't get reception where i previously could!

I've now flashed to XXKH3

I use KI3 modem , seems slightly better than KH3 was for me.

Using KI3 here too. Works pretty well, only comparison I have is my old phone (Galaxy S) and the reception is definitely a lot better than that.

I got a HSDPA+ signal yesterday too, the Three network is great when you have coverage, I just wish that when I go out into the country that they hadn't turned off their 2G coverage (via Orange) as now I find myself without signal at all sometimes when I always used to have something at least.

I should not have to though, not when I was happy with how it was in the first place. I've had to change it to Helvetica S for now because the other font they supply, Choco cooky, is frankly ridiculous.

What is really infuriating is that the actual font family hasn't changed, they've just set it to be bold in most places. So why not have Bold true/false as an option on the font selection? At least then people could set it back to how it was. Just trying to read my text messages and seeing them all in bold is just silly.

Hit the "Get fonts online" button and it just takes me to the market to buy a font, I don't want to buy a font

@Bloomfield thanks for the offer but I don't think it is the font it self but rather some setting somewhere telling it to be bold.

Hi all - I've looked all over for this but can't find the answer.
I have widget locker on the Samsung S2 which works great but if you press the home button - it unlocks the screen. This kind of makes the app useless.

Any ideas? I must be doing something wrong....

You could just update to KI3 instead tbh, as KI4 is the only one with gay fonts, and KI3 is Android 2.3.5 instead of 2.3.4 on KI4 .

Since I got XXKI3 I haven't changed. I customised it of course to make my personal rom but I've kept it and don't see me changing until something magical is released.

Could someone help me with rooting?

The only thing i have done since having my phone is updated with Kies to the latest update available and then Flashed my modem with KH3 via odin to get better reception.

Got the phone today and I've rooted. Can someone explain what these modem things are? Is it similar to the radio image from the Desire days?

How do I update it?

Download the KI4 kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Make sure Kies is closed (check in task manager) then follow the instructions.

Wish Kies would have warned me that installing KI4 would result in stupid fonts, then I could have refused it
