Libya is finished, what country will be next?

But explain why we are not helping Syria?

Explain why we aren't invading other states with huge natural resources and run. By warlords or others.
Explain why we have used military muscle in many countries with very limited resources.
We've had it in for gadaffi for decades.
Odds of success
Odds of deaths
Cost
How to get milliatry equipment there.
Arab league(which are sending a team in next week to have a look and negotiate)
There are thousands of factors on going to war or supplying support.

Nigeria if oil was the primary focus, although I doubt any country would want to fight an African version of Vietnam.

Now this is one thing I *do* beleive we'll see in our lifetime. Simply because its how nature works - for thousands of years living things have fought with one and other over resources.

This planet does not have the resources to happily support an ever increasing, ever developing population. At some point in the medium to long term, it will end in war. Probably between the two most resource hungry countries which will inevitably be China and the US.

Really?

Personally I can't see it happening.

But hey that's me and I know next to nothing about politics and a tiny bit about international relations and all that shizzle.

Now that a Rothschild central bank is being installed and the oil is being sold to Western companies at insanely cheap prices, which country is next be liberated and given a dose of good old Western Democracy?

Scotland, those skirt wearing sheep stomach eating barbarians need to be democracised

the old "oil" argument is always good for the lol's

someone told me once we were only in Afghanistan to "steal all their oil"

yes, I have heard that from plenty of people, then I point out that there is actually no oil reserves and the entire Afghan economy untill recently was driven by opium and the wests glutton for Heroin !!

I suspect they will continue to go after other dictatorships where they have a vested interest in the outcome. The ones they should be going for are places like Uganda and Zimbabwe but it will never happen.

And as Fox has pointed out, no cheap oil will come off this, the only difference being is that the production will end up being a constant supply rather than being at the beck and call of the good col. turning it off whenever he wanted.

In a cynical moment when I was asked why we were in Afghanistan i responded with: "Well, all we want to do is corner the opium market" ;)

TBH, in the last 100 or so years Afghanistan has been nothing more than a battleground fora series of proxy wars :(

Lol that old chestnut.
Just because we don't believe. Every single CT doesn't mean we aren't realistic over what governments can and do, do.

Its like. If we don't believe every single CT then we must believe governments 100% of the time. There's of course never ever room for a sensible middle ground.

The same applies in reverse too, no but wait this is ocuk forums.

No but there is a big pipeline to secure which means gas flowing to the west do not have to pass though Russia.

But does Tripoli have a Starbucks and McDonanalds on every street yet? If not we're not quite done liberating!

Unfortunately, before overthrowing Gaddafhi they only had time to erect a central bank (unless it was pre-built):

It shouldn't be long before their economy is in dire straights and the Libyan people have to face austerity and bailouts, with none of the oil profits going to the people any longer.

Why would they bother attacking Pakistan? The current government seem to be doing a good job of screwing it themselves!
