****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

How fast can the s2 write to cards? the most i've seen out of my wireless is 30Mbit which wouldnt saturate a class 6 card (6MB or about 48Mbit). Maybe the s2 isnt capable of writing that fast?

Sandisk Mobile Ultra Class 2 8GB:

I get 11MB/s / 55.5MB/s on my class 4 Sandisk. (Edit: got higher speeds on the second run by about 1MB/s)

I'm not sure what speed I get when transferring video but I know it takes almost exactly the same time to copy 28GB of video via USB and WiFi on my phone.

my 2p's worth

- don't bother with kies, i used once and binned...
- if you do use kies 'untick' load at start up as it runs like a dog on any pc
- as for launcher there are better ones, but for some reason NONE seem quite as zippy at
touchwizz, someone said they all need to be redone and optimized for duel core phone.
Kies sucks!

Try Nemus Launcher.
Yeah Kies sucks, but Kies Air is actually quite useful. It doesn't always load up in my browser, but after a few goes it works nicely.

I'm still using Touchwiz 4 launcher, surprisingly good on the SGS2. I was using it on my SGS for a while but it runs a lot better on this phone. Don't see the advantage to changing it really. Although still can't sort app drawer alphabetically!

The 'must do's' for the SGS2 are probably get a decent ROM on and root it. Beyond that not much else, totally depends on how you use Android and what you need. The beauty is you can set it up how you like really.

There's a modded Touchwiz .apk floating around somewhere on XDA that allows 5 icons in the dock and sorting the app drawer aphabetically.. can't find it though. The only one I found was for the SGS 1 and apparently it force closes.

Nemus Launcher can have 12 apps on the bottom dock (Scrollable) and allows scrolling horizontally or vertically and sorting alphabetically or customisable grid in the app drawer. I've now removed TW Launcher from my personal rom and moved to Nemus Launcher. It's the only launcher that has got me to ditch TouchWIZ Launcher.

well uninstalling facebook apps made no difference. from 100% charge to 28% (i've lost 7% in last 20 minutes) in the last 5 hous and 51 minutes with only wifi on.

anything else i can try to diagnose the issue? can i see if the phone wifi is being used and what for? feels as though i have a virus constantly streaming.

also any thoughts on the fact the phone signal in abttery stats is only yellow and when on network signal info app is says can't read signal strength even though i have 2/3/4 bars?

I'm thinking of ditching the 4s to go to this mainly cos of the flash player do you guys think it's worth it? I will buy a ipad2 so I don't see the point of owning a iPhone and iPad?

P.S Is it the best android phone out ATM? Or should I wait for a new one to come soon? I heard the galaxy nexus is not as good as the s2

It isn't worth changing purely for flash player, not at all.

It's the best Android phone out at the moment, you could consider the Galaxy Nexus better, same for the Motorola Razr, it depends.

Why? Does the flash player not run smoothly? It's also that the battery life on ye 4s is poor.. Used google maps yesterday from 50% battery within 1 hour battery went dead? And also is there any point owning a iPhone if u got a ipad2?

It's fairly smooth but it can be quite glitchy, how much do you need it on a phone? Some people might but not everyone does.

It shouldn't be that bad. I doubt the Galaxy S II battery is going to be any better.

And also is there any point owning a iPhone if u got a ipad2?

Well, yes. They work well in synchronisation and I doubt you would have both of them with you at all times.

Gotta say the best battery combo I have found so far is CheckROM HD and speedmod s2 k6-6 kernel :)

Easily getting home with 40% after unplugging at 5:30am and very heavy usage including hours of A2DP streaming :)
