The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Are there going to be any ati drivers for this game on release do we know? Im on crossfire and hope it runs well out of the box!

Also if it turns up tokorrow, can we use the old VPN trick?

Cheers :)

Pretty sure it releases everywhere on the 11th, VPN only works when fooling steam to think you're in a region where the game is already released.

Lack of PC copies to reviewers is starting to irk me a little.

Zero people have had a shot on a PC version of the game. Even at the special booth sessions. Always an xbox. :(

This is what worries me.

An the thing with it being a steam game is that theres a program where you can have the steam game in a different dictonary.

Not sure if it's been posted already, but how big is the pre-load? Wondering whether I should bother pre-loading if my game comes tomorrow so I can wake up Friday morning without having the hassle to install from DVD.

Not really, it's not out any earlier elsewhere

Thought it technically releases 12:01 local. So if you VPN'd into Aussieland, your 12:01 local would be earlier than the UK one...

Pre-loading on steam now, Will take around an hour and a half, not bad really, it's almost a third of the size of MW3, how can that be? MW3 doesn't have any high res textures or anything

Yeah, bit confusing when BF3 was about 3 times the size of Skyrim. Saying that as already mentioned, Oblivion was only 4.3GB. Beth put it down to the way The Creation Engine compresses stuff, and to be honest, I don't really doubt them, based on how small and awesome Oblivion was.

Because the PC version is Steam locked no doubt, no one can review it until after the 11th.

Both my favorite game series now use Steamworks - Civ and TES, but at least with Civ V there were loads and loads of preview videos and official live streams.

With this game, the developers, and the fan base are religiously anti - spoiler. They dont want to see or hear anything even slightly spoilerish about new TES games.

To be honest mate I think we were all hit by the stigma of piracy and pc's...if those copies went to reviewers they would be on the net no doubt...

Similiar to what happened to the XBOX "We don't EVER have any piracy" 360 :D

IGN tend to do a PC review a few days after the Console version as they quickly see how it plays/performance issues etc especially as it is the same game that shouldn't take them too long to get the review up.

I'm confident about the PC version :)

They would have had developer versions surely? Before Steamworks durm was put on.

Xbox version was leaked 10 days before official release.

Hopefully the lack of PC review is because they want to surprise us and show how many billion times better it is. :D

...and not that it's exactly the same as the console version.

Yea but all the reviews for this game are being done using Xbox 360 retail copies, not developer versions.

Well the console version got:

Gameplay: 98%
Sound: 95%
Graphics: 92%

Overall: 95%

....

So the PC version will be higher with the Graphics at least :D

Just checked my order on Amazon and it says 'Dispatching Soon' so hoping it might be sent out this afternoon or early tomorrow.

I paid the extra for next day delivery anyway so should all be fine.

I've pre-ordered mine through Tesco, but it's still 'Awaiting Dispatch'.
If I cancel my order with them and order from ShopTo, is there a good chance it will be with me by Friday?

I'm sticking with Tesco, I will be dissapointed if it is late but it is not like it would be the end of the world!
