im running it ultra on a 460gtx with 8xaa and hitting 50fps most of the time but in villages/cities im only getting 35ish fps so ill scale the aa back to 4x.
some of the textures are kinda crap close up though....and the fov doesnt feel right in first person

How are you playing it now - are you in Newcastle upon Melbourne?
Just on the intro scene with everything set as high as they go except AA which is at 4x and only getting 25-40 ish fps on a 460 too. I have to say, I'm highly likely to use my nectar points to buy it from Amazon as well so I have the map.I wanted the map, complete sucker for maps in games!Used to love the GTA maps and have my Witcher 2 map on the wall. Only reason I stuck by Amazon.
I had the same problem. Usually turning off "GX" option in the xonar control panel fixes it. That's the bit that intercepts EAX code an emulates it, but for most modern games you don't even need it.
