Mmm ok cool mate thanks, wonder if it makes a difference what order you do it in.

It doesn't. If you go into magic > shouts then you can see how many dragon souls you have stored.

So smithing weapons and armor that may be slightly more than you need for your current level wont create super strong mobs?

Up to 96 smithing now and still good :)

Some of the dialog in this game is brilliant. I needed to drop a couple of weapons as I was carrying too much, and one of the guards told me off for leaving dangerous weapons lying around :D

Just finished the main quest! I ran through it pretty quickly, as I wanted to get it out of the way so that I could just spend the rest of my time exploring and re-rolling my character.

Must say that I'm a little disappointed that the dragons don't stop showing up when you've beaten the main quest. I thought it would be like Oblivion, where the gates stop appearing. I just travelled to Solitude after beating it, and some dragon came and attacked the city. Bit of a nuisance.

I think the game developers at bethesda, need to be lined up and in turn given a hefty kick in the love spuds.
I cant understand people saying ah the textures / graphics etc dont matter its the gameplay that counts?
Are you kidding? we have been sold another game, that requires more patches to get it up to spec, from lazy game developers, which seems to be becoming the trend.
people should complain more:mad:

Does anyone think the alchemy is bugged? I just made a load of potions and discovered some ingredients properties but they are not showing up when I go back into the alchemy lab.

Heheh, I think I may be getting ahead of myself. The alchemy potions only appear in the list when you have at least one of the ingredients required. The potion is listed as grey. The potions in white are when you have all the ingredients. I apologise to Bethesda. :D

Another Elders noob question...

How can I find the level of an enemy?

I don't think you can, why would you need to

I've just bought this but never played any of the previous Elder Scroll games or RPG before, what's a good starting point in terms of choosing a character for complete n00b?
Welcome any further tips and hints

It doesn't matter too much, some characters lend them self better to a certain style of play (Nord's and Redguard make good tanks, Orcs are good damage dealing melee, high elves and Bretons are good mages, Khajit and Wood Elves are good sneaky/archer/thief characters)

While that is a tad annoying with dragons re-spawning doesn't it still make it fun?

I was doing the quest to get to greybeard's and going down the valley (snow) and feeling like i was in a 300 movie moment. And then pad was rumbling like mad and "bang bang RAAAAAWWWW" bloody dragon!!! i was shouting at the TV and running for my life like a girl! :D

Epic!

How long did it take you?

& how can you see how many hours/days played?

Not sure how many hours I have pumped in so far (is there a counter anywhere?) probably at a guess around 20 or so, still just working away on companions quests and anything that I stumble across on route to those quest locations and so far absoloutely loving it :)

It is definitly grabbing me the way Morrowind did, which Oblivion failed to, that may be down to the fact I am so far travelling everywhere on foot and refusing to use quick travel, because of this constantly stumbling across different things I would miss otherwise.

Again as I stated after a couple of hours play, now with 20+ I still have not encountered any bugs / problems with my ps3 version, game looks great, running smooth and my ps3 slim seems to be coping fine with the extended sessions (staying nice and quiet no crazy fan noise).

Definitly my best game purchase this year.

Do you think I may regret not putting any points towards magic? I'm going for a tank route, heavy armor and 2 Handed.

Currently got 31 points in Heavy armor and 49 points in 2 Handed. Level 11.

What else should I start to expand on?

Cheers

It really depends where you put your perk points rather than it just being about developing specific skills through use. You don't really need to develop your magic skills unless you want to be able to self heal (it is very useful). If you are using 2-Handed or 1-Handed + Shield this makes it very difficult. You would need to switch to 1-Handed + Healing Spell (off hand) quite often which may detract from your play style.

It is probably worth developing your restoration a bit though and putting about 3-5 perk points into restoration as that makes your self healing and magika efficiency quite effective so you won't need to focus on increasing your magicka when you level up and you can just concentrate on health and stamina.

They are integral to the game though even after the main quest is finished. For example with professions you need items from them especially to make the higher level armour.

I don't think you can, why would you need to

Knowing the level of the enemy would be useful for knowing when certain weaponry/spells work. I have a spell to reanimate things level 8 or below, for example.

I seem to have stumbled across a shout in a side quest but I can't figure out how to use it? Please enlighten me. :)

Got ID'd buying this. Arguably the low point of my life so far :p

Gonna fire it up in a minute, bought enough snacks for the potential all nighter...
