The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

A tip, for a few hundred gold a time you can make some serious cash.

What to do.

Learn trap soul spell/weapon with trap soul.

Buy loads of low level soul gems.

Go fill them up - killing animals + collection pelts is best way.

Goto blacksmithy.

Buy all his leather + leather straps.

Make as many leather bracers as possible (2 straps 1 leather).

Enchant as many of them as possible.

Sell them back to the merchant - while gaining loads of levels in smithy + enchanting.

Go do a quest.

Head back + repeat as they restock.

Keep making this item until you hit 100 smithy (with Iron daggers if you have lots of iron instead + enchant those also).

You can get to a stupidly high level, but it can be dangerous if you are L20 with poor combat skills ,mobs will own you (so it's an artifical difficulty increaser :P).

Enchanting an item increases it's value significantly btw, makes it not much of a loss overall (improving them on workbench/grindstone not usually worth it)

Level 28. Starting to really get into it. Although the dwarven ingots for levelling smithing is useless. You may as well stock up on iron ingots and leather and create iron daggers, you need to use iron with the dwarven armor anyhow.

How come people are levelling their smithing up so quickly?

You basically said it yourself. Just go around all the cities blacksmiths and buy their Iron Ingots and Leather Strips. Rinse and repeat. Gold required, but not a hell of a lot afaik.

Cool, just stumbled across a dragon sitting there on top of a shrine, killed it and got all 3 words of "Throw voice". Then one of those Lichs(Krosis) turned up, he could easily kill me on 2 shots so it was pretty boring trying to stay out of sight and pick him off with the bow, but i killed him and got a decent mask that boosts Alchemy, archery and lockpicking by 20%.
I don't know if i have ruined one of the quests now?

Disenchanting magical items is useful to gain the effect for future use and also boosts your skills.

I'm level 13 now, done the college of winterhold questline. It was ok, standard issue fantasy I felt.

But the mask of malakei and arch mage robes make up for that 200% magicka regen! :D

Ok cheers. Was an epic fight anyway!

Actually the quest screen is really starting to annoy me now, how hard would it be to just have a brief explanation of how you got the quest, what you have to do etc with it! I can't remember half of the stuff on there.

I had this at first, turned out it wasn't the game, I had stereo speakers but had the sound card thinking it was quadrophonic, so it was pumping out head-on sounds to speakers that weren't there.

I had to dig a bit for the setting mind you, Win7 and the realtek driver both had settings for number of speakers

I had this - but I have a 5.1 setup but my center speaker had gone and hadn't noticed - I just changes to 2 speaker stereo for now to get round it - and have started playing with headphones now

So for my smithing stuff, I only need the following right?

Alchemy:

Alchemist 5/5
Physician
Benefacor

Enchantment:

Enchanter 5/5
Insightful Enchanter
Corpus Enchanter
Extra Effect

Smithing:

Steel Smithing
Arcane Blacksmith
Left or Right tree to Dragon Armor

I take it that Dragon Armor is better than Daedric, so if I take the light armor side I can save two or three perks?

Mostly correct. Daedric is better than Dragon, but the light version of dragon is the best light armor there is. You also don't need arcane smithing if you're planning on wearing all crafted gear, you can just upgrade the gear via the grindstone/table before adding your enchantments as the upgrade doesn't affect them anyway, that'll save you a point.
