The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Read this, wish I'd found it when starting out! Maybe I wouldn't have done what the first NPC said to do, which was to split up. So we go our seperate ways and I miss the guardian stones which get your skills quicker. Only to find that guide 10 levels and many hours into the character.

Urgh that was so moronic. "We should split up" ...and following him gives a tutorial of sorts and quest tips and leads you right to the 3 standing stones. I was 20 hours into the game and around lvl20 before I found them. The first stone I found was The Ritual which I never even used.

"Its safer if we split up".. so i headed off into the wilderness... missed them too! :o

The start of the game bugs me with what they say as well, that female officer asks "Sentry, what can you see" when the dragon is directly on top of the tower and someone else says "Its in the clouds".. err no its not!!

Yeah >< Plus its hardly the most subtle of creatures. If you can see glimpses of it with your head on the ground with a tower blocking 80% of your view I'm pretty sure the guards can see it with a little more clarity :p

"Pressing the block button with a bow performs a punch with the bow"

I went to use healing hands on lydia last night during a dragon fight but accidentally punched her with my bow instead and killed her. Talk about hurting someone when they're down :D

Is Lydia actually any good at anything other than getting in the way, blocking doors, blowing my stealth cover and getting killed?

I suppose pack mule is one answer but then there are potions to get around that... :p

I just tell her to wait and make me some tea if shes getting in the way :D

MY lydia (:D) has dragon bone armour, a greatsword and a bow and I keep her stocked with healing potions. She can hold her own pretty well now. It's funny seeing her doing commando rolls about the place. Her sneak has obviously levelled up with mine but she has the silent roll perk, whereas I don't.

But yeah, she always blows stealth attacks, so I always tell her to wait when I do guild quests :D

I got made guild master last night. Is that the guild back up to strength now?

Even when I tell her to stay still and make me a sammich while I go kill stuff in a sneaky manner, she still sometimes ends up charging the enemy. :/

How do I get her to equip specific stuff? It seems to be an automatic thing. I've given her an orcish sword and a decent bow but I'm not sure I want to waste decent armour on her; she's just a meat shield. :p

Oh jeez, I missed those standing stones at the start as well then :p

Quick question; are there any really big cities in Skyrim? I haven't been to half of them yet, but the ones I have found are disappointingly small. You have these mighty castles containing the ruler of the city and all his minions......but their kingdom is usually 5 houses and a few hens :D

Astounding game. 20 hours in and I'm constantly flabbergasted by things. It really has set a new standard for game world design. Makes everything else out there seem tiny and fugly :)

The standing stones were one of the first things I found :D. I found them on my way to Riverwood, or might have been when I went from Riverwood to Whiterun. I remember being blown away by the scenery around there and was hooked on the game at that point lol.

I think there might have been a book in the house you follow the guy to and it put the stones on my map, not entirely sure now.

It took me a good half an hour to decide which of the three stones to choose :o.

Just tried to go on the game, only for it to crash every time I load my save!

It was fine yesterday, has there been any overnight changes?

Nope don't think so. Solitude is the biggest I think.

Just encountered a frightened woman on the shore, west of Solitude... she said she had escaped from Mistwatch and was lost...

Typical woman to get that badly lost, since Mistwatch is between Windhelm and Riften!

Lol.:D

I've got a couple of items I can get over 800 gold each for but the traders in riverwood, whiterun, riften and solitude never have more than around 720 to 750 gold. Is there anywhere else I should try or do I have wait till I can put a perk on master trader?

Install the trader 10'000 gold mod. Traders should have at least that in the standard game IMO
