The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I doubt it would be possible to one shot a dragon, even with 6 items giving fortify archery boosts with a daedric bow. Will let you know next time I encounter one. It may be possible to sneak attack a weak dragon (dragon or blood dragon) and get 3x damage. I'd be dishing out over 1000dmg per shot (assuming it works like 3x 346 bow damage?)

Yeah, sneak attack and x15 Dagger damage must work on a Dragon.. in one quest there is a sleeping one, so thats worth a try.

as far as i know the only legitimate way to oneshot a dragon is with maxxed sneak/one handed skill with all the dagger perks for 16x dmg and the best daggers you can make.

I'm barred from Markath, might have to invoke god mode, and go for a stroll around see if there's anything I've missed :p

Thats the town I have gotten myself into the most trouble too.. but bribing a guard will make it all go away.. they just keep asking "Dont I know you?" know. :D

You rarely get chance to sneak attack a dragon anyway unless maybe you're in town and they are a long way from you. But when you do 180 a shot (with some fortify items and a potion) plus 70-80 on 2 hits from a powerful damage health poison you do get some nice damage.

Does anyone else keep getting Dragons flying around over their heads while out and about and they just never notice you and eventually fly off? Happened a few times now. Too far to land a shot with a bow and Lightning Bolt just doesn't hit.

I had one at Dragon Bridge who was out of range and wouldn't land, so I just rode off and left him to it. Though I have been fighting dragons at night and while sneaking they cant see you and attack everyone else.

awesome, I must give it a go :D I just got that 15x sneak perk. By backstabbing I assume there's no special mechanics for this? Just sneak up behind someone with a dagger and attack?

I've had a few opportunities where they're just curled up asleep or resting atop of the thu'um word walls.

Some times, but not often. I usually run towards them like an annoying an insect. An insect that does the killing, not getting squished that is ;) :D

Strangely enough, Solitude was like that for me. Every time I walked past a guard I'd get "Wait, I know you..." then if I interact, I'd get the same comment but I'd have to pay a fee or whatever. I just said I was with the guild and persuaded him to let me go free of charge. Happened with every guard (I was able to do it twice per guard too) until after about 10 persuades when I must have paid all my bounty (I wasn't aware I had any which is why I think it was more of a glitch - no guards have every caught me stealing in solitude)

yes, from behind while undetected. I think you get additional damage with a dagger though over a regular one-handed weapon.

Isn't Mehrune's razor the one that has a small chance of insta killing the target anyway?

Thats the one you need to assemble right? My quest bugged out and the Razor is still sitting broken on the table and I cant activate it :(

You may be able to got to the walkthrough on a wiki and progress the quest using the set stage console command.

Or if you just want the weapon but aren't fussed about the quest, you could just use player.additem <razor's ID> 1.

I'd recommend doing the quest however as I got two daedra hearts from killing the two summoned daedra :D
.

Thanks. Ill try to spawn the item as the quest is complete and no longer active in my log, but when I go to pick up the Razor the "E" is greyed out and wont work.

cheers

I've had a dragon fly away from me mid-battle. It decided that the mud crabs on the river were a greater threat, oh and then that skeever and the wolves.

Obviously the guy hurling lightening wasn't a concern anyway.

Bloody annoying though as I couldn't keep up with it to continue the battle, had to give up.

Well other than those. There aren't exactly many of them and you tend to find most of them early on before you even have a powerful weapon. Think the only time you really have a chance is when they fly off and attack something else mid-fight or crash land miles from where you are.

Hehe, they do enjoy randomly flying off to attack things sometimes. Normally its a Giant though so by the time I find it again its half dead.
