Free handset and £26 a month. Cheapest I can find online for an 18 month contract is £30, with much less minutes / data and you also have to pay for the handset.

I got this direct from Orange, so it's a loyalty based deal (my contract is coming to an end).

Tonight is going to be spent buying accessories off the bay :).

Found a ROM that does so too :D

Tested it seems fairly stable(definitely not as stable as GB yet obviously), Battery life is basically what I was getting on CheckROM. It is using LP2 at the moment but LP6 on the way & is reported to have MHL working :D

Definitely the best ROM that mashes ASOP & Sammy together thus far.

Any issues with using non-branded / generic MicroSD cards? I can pick up a 32GB one for around a tenner, not sure if it's worth the risk?

The only risk is that the card might be fake, so get it tested if you're buying it from someone or read up on the brand. Fake cards are slow and usually not the size that is advertised.

That looks like a nice ROM, might have to try that one soon - just went with a GB based rom yesterday which I'm liking!
 
Having some issues deleting voicemail on this phone.

Im listening to the message, it says press 3 to delete, I take the phone away from my ear, the ui displays I go to the keyboard I press 3 but it doesn register.... I tried pressing the # key afterwards as well but nothing... :confused:
 
Has anyone use the SGP Anti Oleophobic screen protector? I bought it as i thought it was an anti smudge but it has so proven to be utterly useless. It doesn't smudge as such but virtually every touch of the screen leaves a very noticeable oily mark.

It's bad enough that i'm probably going to remove it and do without.

Its hapebing with loads of micro USB phones. Especially ones with plastic casing. The tiny amount of solder just can't handle repeated use without support. I had the issue with my desire and my x10. S2 is ok so far but have only had it a few months
 
FINALLY got my phone abck after 18 days of sammy fixing it. (faulty USB port like the others above)


Not impressed with sammys service in the slighest, the phone came back in a non protected cardboard box totally bashed to bits and it wasnt even sent via recorded delivery!


anyway ive been using ICS on the touchpad i love ICS, is there any fully working ICS roms out?
 
The vibration intensity is starting to annoy me a little bit, does anyone know how I can change it? Phone goes crazy when I get an incoming notification and the phone is left on the desk :D

Did you send it to them with proof of purchase? I seem to have lost my receipt :(

I noticed that also. If you go to settings > sound and turn on Haptic Feedback, you can change the vibration intensity. It's rather badly designed because it looks like the setting is only for Haptic Feedback, but it's not.

I brought a non-branded class 10 16GB one about 6 months ago, tested it and got some nice read/write numbers, one week later it just stopped working. From now on I stick with branded ones.

No fully working ICS yet but it is getting there.

On this simplistic ROM I installed Friday:

Battery is near enough the same as what I was getting on CheckRom.
Data/Wifi work perfectly
FM radio doesn't work (needs a Sammy fix)
MHL doesn't work (works in LP6)
ASOP Contacts (when you delete a contact it hangs) Apart from that fine.
ASOP Messaging works perfect.
ASOP ICS browser crashes, Have to use ICS Browser+ no biggie.
GPS works fine, Navigation works fine.
Signal bar doesn't work properly (fixed in LP6 apparently)
Vibration doesn't work for notifications (works for other things though like haptic feedback)
Quick toggles hang sometimes, fixes itself after a few seconds.
Tried a 720p rip in mobo player, it played flawlessly.
Youtube works perfect.
Netflix App Crashes when logging in. (think it is the same in LP6 too so probably a Netflix problem)

All I can think of so far, If there is anything you want me to check out I will. Apart from bluetooth headsets cause I have none ;)

been on 2.35 k14 for while now and fancy change.
do flash the above via odin or copy to phone and install from sd card?

My S2 went to t-mobile yesterday and they've sent it for repair, so see what happens. Said it could be up to 28 days, miss it already lol. As for sd cards i would also advise branded, i bought a cheap generic one and it lasted a few weeks before it seemingly stopped working. Paid a few quid more for a sammy one and been spot on so far, touch wood lol.
 
big mistake sending it to t mobile from my experiences. should always go direct to the manufacturers support (who tell you to contact a company who's name i have now forgotten that deals with many brands and warranty repairs in the uk) I've always got very quick service from them whereas providers always inspect and try and pass blame etc before they send it to the above

Wouldnt be too sure on that :p

Sent my samsung tab in to samsungs "repair centre", they lost my one, sent me somone elses, then sent me the wrong model, then eventually they admitted they lost it and refunded me the cost of the tab. :rolleyes:
