****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Wiping battery stats does nothing on the SGS2 :).

Charging the battery when off then pulling the battery for a minute or so will, supposedly, force a calibration, I've never seen anything (evidence wise, plenty of people have said it does) to suggest it actually makes a difference though, it definitly hasn't when I've done it.

Edit: loltim, the charger shouldn't have damaged it, how much power is drawn depends on what the phone wants, not how much the charger wants to give (obviously if it's below what the charger outputs :p).

Anything look weird in BBS?

and it hasn't when i've done it, but what harm will it do to try?

Doubt that'll help. I wiped battery stats between flashing Roms?

Sure ive read on xda that i9100 batteries requiring calibration is a myth too.

All i don know is that the battery is supposed to be full charged when you do it

It won't do any harm, but it won't actually do anything either :p (I'm talking about wiping the battery stats here), the chip in the phone doesn't work that way :).

I'll go find the XDA link.

Edit:

Unlike HTC devices, battery calibration doesn't apply to our devices.

Google MAX17040 for more info - while our fuel gauge chip (MAX17042) does have advanced features that would require calibration if used, those features are not yet enabled and it basically behaves identically to a 17040. Maxim specifically designs their fuel gauge chips to not require special calibration procedures..

From the Nokia charger:

Output 5.0v. 550ma... Can remember what the Samsung one is?

Samsung one is about 750~

I've not ever used the Samsung one on mine, I always use ones that output 1A, never had a problem. The GS2 only pushes a certain amount to the battery anyway so the benefit of a higher amperage charger wouldn't be there.

The voltage is correct and the phone will only draw 400mA from non-Samsung/HTC(I think it is) chargers, as only those have some pins shortened or something. So assuming the charger is working fine it shouldn't have been a problem :).

Btw, to clarify the above, I wasn't suggesting not to bother trying the battery pull method, I was just saying it's supposed to calibrate it but don't get your hopes up :p.

How many days has it been like this loltim? Could you post betterbatterystats log/screenshots?

What is the upper limit? my original samsung charger is long gone (stolen at work...sigh) but i'm fairly sure my HP touchpad charger charges it quicker than my sammy one did. I know either of them are a damn sight quicker than charging via the pc, but i've just taken a look and my pc pushes....96mA to my phone for charging....so that would be why it takes forever :p

I imagine there is no reasonable upper limit, not heard of one anyway.

what's the recommended ICS rom? just tried revolution rom and got locks when the screen was turned off and locks when swiping across homescreens

Anyone got any experience with the /efs folder and a lost IMEI? SOmething happened to mine while I was flashing an ICS rom and my IMEI number was showing up as unknown. I tried a fix off XDA and it seemed to work but when i rebooted it had gone again. Have I totally broke it?

Is it possible to backup my titanium backup folder to my pc incase i want to format my sd card then restore everything once im up im up and running again? can i just copy and paste the folder or is there more to ot than that?

Thanks

Just copy and paste :)

Just copy and paste :)

Yeah, I keep all my backups (Titanium/CWM/EFS) on my PC, dont see the point wasting the space on my phone when I don't need them on there all the time.

If I do get a random problem where the phone won't boot and I've already copied the backup to PC you can just copy it back to the phone in recovery mode anyways (if you have the Android SDK installed) :).

loltim, 5.1v is fine, any microusb charger is likely to be fine, especially those from large companies like Nokia/Moto etc, they all have to match certain specifications :).

on LPB how do i stop the "select input method" notification from appearing? I've selected samsung IME time and time again:mad:
