The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Indeed, though I like having PrintScreen as my Fraps hotkey. Never mind.

I've got bAllowScreenshots in two places, the main game folder and the folder that contains my save games folder.

Skyrim_default.ini in C:\Games\Skyrim\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Skyrim.ini in C:\Users\me\Documents\My Games\Skyrim

You've presumably edited both those to 0?

Great! Just completed the Stormcloak questline and apparently due to my choices in the main quest I can not get the 'war hero' achievement .

Going to have to go back to an earlier save from before I did the main quest and then do the stormcloaks quests. gah, I don't think i can be bothered for an achievement...

Yeah I've done that. I have found it isn't actually Skyrim taking the screenshots. No message comes up in game when I take them, and also they are .png; Skyrim saves as .bmp.

It might be enbseries or FXAA that also have screenshot options.

Well, I completed the main questline, it seems.

The Alduin battle was a bit of a disappointment really, I had such high end gear that I killed him in about 4 or 5 hits.

I was expecting to be bashed around with his tail, thrown about from the gusts from his wings and so on but meh.

I'm not sure if I was supposed to do more with the Blades but I didn't want to kill Parthunax so never bothered talking to Delphine again.

So, seeing as that's out of the way and my quest journal is quite light (I don't want to do Thieves' Guild or DB questline with this character), I seem to have 7 of these Dragon priest masks in my posession so am going to try to find some more. I have a quest from the Mage's College Library dude, and assuming that I complete these two I'll start a new Stealth Asassin-style character.

Thing is, I have every intention of starting a new toon but this game has a habit of springing surprises on you and keeping you going. There are vast swathes of the map that I still haven't explored and I've put in 120 hours!!!

Hmm, in Archery, I had 4/5 Overdraw perk unlocked, and my two daedric legendary enchanted bows (one with 26 frost damage, the other with 32 fire damage) were each at 98 base damage. Wearing my ring of extreme archery (bows do 35% more damage) brings base damage of each bow to 135 base damage.

Now I've unlocked 5/5 Overdraw (bows do twice as much damage) and my bows base value are each 111 without ring on and 150 with ring on. So how is that double damage? I'm obviously not understanding how the game calculates these things.

Sounds like you're hitting some sort of damage cap. I've been confused with the % increase items as well.

EDIT: Seems I wasn't paying attention to the above. The increases in perks don't stack, they are percentages relative to base. :)

Huh? Are you just being dim ><

4/5 is 80% more damage. 5/5 is 100% more damage. Were you actually expecting it to jump to 270 or something?

Yeah. Actually, I just read this "The first perk in archery called over draw allows you to do 20/40/60/80/100% damage." So it seems it doesn't suddenly double the damage unfortunately, but works like other perks, just increases by a few percent until you reach 100%. So I guess it's increased mine by 20% to the full 100%. Still, these bows have been taking down dragons fairly quickly even before I unlocked 5/5. So they're pretty powerful and when I get 2 more perks, I still have 2 more critical shots to unlock to make the bows even more deadly :D

Had a little fight with some Magical Anomaly in Winterhold. One of the College Mages helping me decided to resurrect a dead chicken to aid us :D.

Good to hear, sounds like I'll have fun with Stealth/Dagger/Archery for my next toon. It was either that or an Alteration/Illusion based mage but I fancy some sneaky fun. :)

Having just unlocked the 100 alteration quested spell, I can now go slug it out with stuff in a melee fight (ancient dragons still demand some caution) and only 300 health. Giants too no problem (previous to having this spell, they'd launch me to the moon in 1-2 hits).

Having fun with that, though I still flip to a sneak/stab approach (ridiculously trivial with muffle/invisibility and half-decent sneak skill) with some master vampires as my magic resistance is on the weak side.
