****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Gah, I was happy with the battery life before but hadn't messed with the phone for a while. So I thought I'd give this new RedPill kernel a try. Not good so far, battery life well down yesterday, trying today with voltage control also running and not looking too clever either... Worse thing is I can't remember which kernel I was running before, doh!

Speedmod is great for battery but doesn't have any extras, its a very "lightweight" kernel. I was using NEAK on CheckROM with some very good results before I got too tempted by the ICS builds ;)

If there's something specifically in RedPill that you wanted, try this cleaning script then re-flash. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738

What's speedmod missing that redpill has.

Not forgetting the primary things that SpeedMod doesn't support, those being CWM3 app and the very latest CWM TouchRecovery. Both of which support saving and restoring Nandroid backups from internal mem and sd cards.

For those of you who have fitter the CR-115 to the dash not the windscreen, do you have a link for the disc you used? Assuming you'd recommend it that is.

Cheers I'll have a look at that link. I didn't actually want it for anything specific, I was just playing around. Like a fool I didn't take note of what kernel I was running before! I'll let it run for a couple of days see how it goes, then I'll start looking at the other kernels. It may have actually been the stock kernel with CheckRom thinking about it, I played around with various kernels before and ended up flashing the ROM again as things all went a bit pear shaped!

Hey wondering if anyone can help me with this problem.

Basically the wifi keeps disconnecting randomly. I'll connect to my home wifi, it will work for a minute or something then just stop working altogether.

Any solution? It's been working perfectly for months until now!

Are you using a custom firmware?

So...does google streetview in 3d work for anyone on the s2? I remember being able to check it out on my HTC Desire HD but I can't seem to get it working on the S2 at all..a bit baffled tbh.

i guess your talking about using streeview like you would on the pc, ie viewing streets and being able to zoom and rotate on the spot and move along streets?
if so just fire up maps, press and hold a location until the marker pops up and as long as its on a street it will come up with a option for streetview, use the google icon bottom left for moving and double tap to zoom and flick to rotate. any use?

Probably wrong thread but worth a question that has been annoying me for awhile on my S2. Is there any messaging app out there for MSN that can send custom emotes, or even receive that buddies custom emotes? Only one application I tried was able to receive custom emotes from a contact but none sent them out. I guess it's because the custom emotes are stored locally on a computer? If that is the case, what app allows me to add custom emotes from the phone?
