If it was your profile and pictures they won't reply to you in the first place, me thinks it's something to do with the nowadays british female thing. ME ME ME ME ME, I'm not interested in you just myself :o
 
If you answer too many questions, I read that it messes up the matching algorithm. I've answered just over 300 I think, I tend to do a few every now and again.

If you're on OKC, don't forget that updating your profile and answering questions will put you on someone else's 'newsfeed', increasing your chance of getting viewed/messaged.

Also, a lot of people don't recommend messaging girls after they stop contacting you/ignore you, but I've had some success in sending follow up messages a few weeks later saying "Hey, what's up? I didn't hear from you and I was curious...blah blah blah".

To be honest i'm not much of an OKC fan, prefer the likes of Oasis to it - but they all lose out to POF eventually with it being free and massively popular.

Did it at one point. All the Blokes arrive signally and sit waiting (nervously) then suddenly a hord of Drunken women (who all appear to know each other) turn up and the Fun starts....

Well, the speed dating seemed to be cancelled or something. We got there, and there weren't an awful lot of people there. Asked the bartender if he knew anything about it, and he said that there weren't enough people or something. Ah well.

I'm trying to arrange second dates with a couple of girls, but they are either 'busy' or unresponsive. I've told two of them that it's up to them to name a date, because I've made suggestions before and they haven't gone through with it. If they are genuinely not interested, I don't mind, I'd just rather be told than messed around.
 
Anyone having any trouble with POF today?

For some reason today I can't send any messages as I keep being told "this user is not accepting any messages from users in your country."

I'm in the UK, my profile says UK, and I'm messaging people in the UK, some of which I was messaging quite happily only yesterday! They're all local people so I guess there's something up here?

*update*

doh... my fault. They've replaced the Subject: box with a To: box, even though I've already told it who I'm messaging by clicking the message button on the user's profile. So it was trying to send the message to a user named whatever I wrote in the subject box, then for some reason assuming that I was messaging from another country? Nice coding boys... :rolleyes:

I've been messaging someone for a few days now and I said that we should go for a drink next time she comes into town, she said we have to skype first because that's how she does things.

Is this normal? Should I play along? I've never used Skype before for one, but secondly I feel really uncomfortable with the thought of chatting via mic/webcam. I'd much rather see her in person!
 
Does the free dating sites attract a certain clientèle? I've not given dating any serious thoughts yet, but surely 'free' sites means that they'll attract scammers and other types of web site abuse? E.g. rolling a female (like on WoW) only for them to be male.

Plenty of links of trolling in this thread alone, and I don't think that it says anywhere in WoW that you can't play the opposite gender just because you aren't that gender... xD

:confused: never been asked to use it. i'd tell her you'd be more comfortable face to face
 
This OKCupid is weird, I've just had another message literately 10 mins ago, when I click on the name it says they don't exist on the site.
Is it some sort of spam bot thing


EDIT: there is a yahoo email in the message which bizzarely contains my mum and dads first names (coincidence maybe). I don't really have any friends so i'm going to rule that out. :/ probly some Nigerian, the grammar is a bit off. LOL

Don't know why, but they always seem to have a Yahoo! email address!!... and I mean ALWAYS!!

(nearly been scammed a few times with the 'I Send Pic's' thing etc...)
