2012 Weight Loss Thread

Well turns out I was heavier than I thought when I started last week. I weighed in last Wed at 19 stone dead on.

After dieting and working out almost every night (Treadmill & Bike) I'm now down to 18.2. I'm not over doing it and I'm feeling good without feeling too tired, hoping to lose a good few stone this year.

It's weird as no one say's I look that size but as I used to be a boxer when I was younger I have really big arms and shoulders but developed a beer gut in the last few years.

Hoping to get down to 16 stone by the end of the year as I know the first week will be mostly water weight and it will start to get harder to lose weight.

I dont think I will lose as much this time week as I did the other 2. Really getting stuck in to Stronglifts now and enjoying it. I dont mind though, as long as the fat gets replaced with muscle and not more fat :p

A year ago today I got involved with the 2011 Weight Loss thread, heres the pics from then and now, 5 stone lost and about 10x fitter!

i have a protein shake mid morning, mid afternoon and post workout. Still managed to lose over 3.5 stone since last August! :)

Incidentally if anyone want to buy protein, get this: http://www.myprotein.com/UK/products/impact_whey_protein

High protein content, low carbs and relatively cheap.

Actually it's a low protein content and low protein absorption to the muscles. You need whey isolate.

stuff it i said before i was going to join this and this day i will, probs the bigest guy here (maybe) but looking back before i got the car i used to fit xl tshirts quite well
i guess thats because i stopped using the push bike

height 6 foot 1
weight last week 174.5kg
weight this week 173.5kg

so i guess i should be 161.5kg in 12 weeks doing 1 kg per week or do u think i should try for 2 per week? Hoping to start cycling a few hours a day /4 hours on sunday if this week goes well as me on holiday :D

Another week another update... 2 pounds down this week, which came as a bit of a shock as its been a particularly stressful one and I haven't been eating as well I should, and have hardly done any cardio all week. Anyway, thats 19 pounds so far... another 80 or so to go!

Down to 96.3kg for me, so reasonably concistent. Would have liked to have been sub 95 by the start of March, but December put a stop to that. Still think I should be able to just about get to 90kg by May and then my first target 88kg by my birthday which was the original plan.

Still got over a week before March hits ;).

Ive managed to pull a muscle in my lower back, so had last few days off. Hoping it doesn't mess up my weigh in too much on Monday :(

I know I know. I'm happy just loosing it at a reasonable pace, I don't want to turn my life into just being about loosing weight.

Saying that I weighed myself at 12 today and hadn't had any breakfast and I was 95.5kg, so may make it anyway. The problem with that is that I know by that point my body would have been very dehydrated, so it almost feels a little false.

Lost a couple of pounds this week, so not too bad. I need to pick up the pace though with my fittness as it's fallen by the wayside the past couple of weeks. Got fives this week so that'll help a bit.

Ok,
So i am finally moved in the new house and can sit back and just not have to worry anymore.

That means that i can from tomorrow start my diet/fitness plans.

I am going to follow this diet ;
Whats working for me:

Breakfast - Scrambled Egg/Oats
Snack - Apple/Banana/some piece of fruit
Lunch - Veg/salad with fish/chicken
Snack - Handful of nuts/Turkey chunks (bernard matthews)
Dinner - Veg/salad with fish/chicken
No fizzy drinks/alcohol either. Just water.

Go with what works for you though. I've lost 8lbs in nearly 4 weeks, so a healthy weight loss of 2lbs a week.
That gives me a good basis to go from and i can add to it etc if i need to.

I will also go to the gym at least 3 times a week, more if i can. I am looking around for a general outline i can follow at the moment with regards to how long on each machine and the amount of "sets" etc, so if anyone has one they can recommend that would be great.

Thanks again for all the help you guys have given, will start posting frequently so i can update you all! :p

My Cardiovascular fitness has fell through the floor. Need to get back in to complexes and steal my GF's treadmill once it arrives.. HIIT here I come! :D

Week 7 Weigh in:

Starting weight beginning of January 14st 6lb
Target weight end of June 11st

Last Monday 13st 2lb
This Monday 13st

2lb lost

Another 2lb lost this week, well actually 2 & 1/4 lbs lost but I'm not counting 1/4 lb, so I'm calling my weight 13st this week!

Was my sons birthday this week and we had Domino's pizza and cake etc. also had my first "give in to temptation day" on Saturday since I started. I did pay back the calories by doing more running!

Considering the food week I've had I think I've done well to lose 2lb :)

Decided to weigh myself before a refeed yesterday and again today.. Supposedly gained 3kg, so either the refeed was over the top (which I doubt) or that some serious water weight :o

Seventh week weigh in:

Last Sunday - 21st 1lb
This Sunday - 20st 10lb

5lb loss

(Total loss since September '11 - 5st 3lb )

Past the 5st mark now :D:D:D

I've been going to the gym since last July, only recently started noticing my muscles getting bigger on my arms and legs.

Recently took up doing badminton once a week too, I ache and I sweat so it must be doing some good right? lol

Can I join in?

Height: 5' 10"
Current weight: 96.8kg - 15 stone 3lbs - 213lbs
Target weight: 85.7kg - 13 stone 7lbs - 189lbs

For a guy of my build that's probably a fairly reasonable target, I'll be joining my wife on the Slimming World plan, which I've been impressed with as she's lost a stone since the new year and it's not that hard to follow.
