2012 Weight Loss Thread

It really doesn't matter to be honest in my opinion, set a target, if that 3.5k then so be it, just push it each time you do it, chip away at the time every time you fo it. For me its about small goals that I then work at, then set a new one. Currently I'm trying to strip time of my 5k time of 28mins which isn't fast by any standard but its my goal and its a bonus every time I take a second off it.

But high intensity will benefit any cardio workout.

I'm split to be honest maxeh, yes in that its not as boring as the treadmill but its certainly a harder run as you use more muscles dealing with hills and uneven surfaces. In the winter I treadmill because super cool air plays havoc with my chest (mild asthma).
 
Hey everyone, been reading through this thanks to Maxeh pointing me in this direction. Have to say there are some awesome results in here well done guys! I have been losing/putting on weight for years last year i managed to lose about 2 and a half stone as i had a job on a game farm so never stopped moving or had time to eat much! Since then i have been staying the same sort of weight but i still need to lose a lot more. I have joined the gym and sorted out a few meal ideas but i am having the same old issue of giving up old habbits/snacking. Does anyone have any tips how to stop this?

Sounds like an idiotic suggestion but a big problem for me is watching tv/on the computer with cups of tea/food. Small amounts but they build up throughout the day.

Get out or watch the tv in a room further from the kitchen etc... Get a huge glass of water so you've got something to sip on for a couple of hours without thinking I need a drink.

Although I'm a fat B so my advice is probably crap. If I go for it I can lose quite a lot in a few weeks but I never tend to stick things out. 15'12 just now, have been as high as the 17's. Can't remember being lower than about 14'12 since I was about 14.

Another 6 pounds lost in two weeks which was especially hard over Xmas.

My gym is closed again for another 3 days tomorrow and local swimming pool so looks like I'll be out running the next few days.

Also eating 1500 cals a day is sooo hard :(
