GAME lose another supplier

went in to my local Game earlier to pick up a couple of pre owned bargains.

the manager was putting a display up of around 30 ps2's for 9.99 each. why would you have so many of the damn things!

They will likely go into administration and be resurrected in some form another. With debts paid off and with new owners their stock problems will be solved

Be nice if they dropped their prices as well, to keep up with the competition.

They literally can't afford to...

exactly.

Places like play and tesco entertainment are still using the Channel Islands VAT dodge, and the supermarkets in store just stock the top sellers and sell them almost at a loss and make profit on other stuff.

Thats why they will happily sell you a launch game for half price if you spend £30 in store.

The only possible way they could hope to compete, is to try and price match HMV, which they do already.

I think it would be a good idea to try and be competitive on the odd title though, as a special offer.

I would suggest getting up early in the morning to monitor your shares, as it looks like they may well drop after this news!

I can't take anything serious in that article after reading this line:

Game's problems come at a low point for the industry which has suffered falling sales for the past three years due to the absence of a killer new console to whet consumers' appetites.

Clearly written by a non-gamer journalist and a moron

Does that tax thing not apply anymore? Heard they where getting rid of it not sure if it's happened yet?

There prices don't seems as good as they where before

Jersey and Gurnsey challenged the ruling and lost as of just a couple of days ago.

I've not kept up with this, but I'd guess that it'll take effect with the start of the new tax year i.e. from 1 April 2012.

Yeah their days of tax evasion are numbered. But at te moment there's no point in games retail chain trying to keep up.

Shopto can be competitive despit being in england as they only have one warehouse and a small number of employees

I can see them becoming an online only store or see them just having a few regional stores whilst concentrating more on the online market.

If they survive of course!

I don't know what to buy with my points, I have £60, but there is not much I want, tempted by The Old Republic Collectors at £49.98 but I already own the main game...

Went into our GAME today and all that was left was a couple of games. Saw a copy of red dead £14.99 pre-owned. No wonder they are going down the pan.

Infact it's my first time in months that I have been out on the town so to speak. It's just so much easier to order online. Popped into boots with the missus and she spotted some hair straighteners for £49.99. Found exactly the same ones for £24.99 online. The high street in general really need to sort them selves out.

went in to game today asked for ME3, Fifa Street and SSX for the LoL's they still wouldn't tell me why they didn't have them

Congratulations on acting the fool asking a question you already know the answer to in order to taunt people who are weeks from redundancy. Good job.
