Guy got arrested for making racist comments on twitter about Muamba

In my opinion it is worse to say racist/ offensive remarks online than in public, because you do not have a bubble around your head all day saying you hate someone because they are black in real life.

Nobody is offended on behalf of the person. People are offended by the crass stupidity and bigotry of the comments this guy is supposed to have made. I find it offensive because it offends me, not Fabrice Muamba. It offends me because some absolute knuckle dragging half wit thinks it's funny to make light of somebody else's misfortune, be them black, white, yellow, brown or pink.

I followed this a bit last night on Twitter and the guy went to great lengths to say it wasn't him and how his account was hijacked. Yet looking at his posts over the past few days, the conclusion that he really is a small minded bigot would not be too wide of the mark.
 
Everyone saying how great it is he got arrested - I'm sure if I trawl through your post history I could find something homophobic enough to report to the police as a hate crime.

The internet is not a "virtual world", second life is a virtual world, world of warcraft is a virtual world.

The internet is just a rather advanced notice board.

Except I live in a country where I could legally walk down the street with an AR15 on my back and a giant sign that says "ALL **** SHOULD DIE!".

Funnily enough the word has to be starred out to even say it on here.
 
If you post something which the majority find unacceptable then it's against the law.
