What so put ps3 in hdmi port, fire up game and it will convert the game into 3D?
Did it look good in 3D and is it just as easy to control in this enviroment if it wasn't mad for 3d?
(comes tomora but cant test till sat)

i'm very glad the 2nd one is fine,its a super beautiful screen & @ £166.66 it must be the bargain of 2012. ;)

i too got mine this morning & i'm very happy,at last i got S23A700D monitor which is free from faulty pixels not only that but this screen is even better than the previous 3 (all from germany) because this one does not suffer from bad back light bleed at all,(2 out of the 3 had back light bleed one at the top & one at the bottom which was really bad making colours a long the bottom look washed out).

4th time lucky i guess but still stuck pixels may appear later as the 1st monitor didn't have any stuck pixels until about 7 days later. but i feel positive about my overclockers purchase. :)

many thanks to them for the excellent service & for emailing me the invoice within 1 hour of requesting it via web note ;)

i have already got the "Claim Validated" email from samsung.so for me today was a nice day.:cool:

time to enjoy Worms Reloaded & MW3 like never before.(such a beautiful screen,better than our led 1080p tv) ;)

Each time you sent back for dead pixels was this out of your own pocket or did Overclockers arrange pickup and redelivery?
4th time lucky sounds like a case of bad luck or poor QC for Samsung. Fingers crossed that mine is defect fee and no lightbleeding...hopefully you got through a dodgy batch and now is all good ;)

as stated above i bought all 3 from germany,it's definitely a case of poor QC as this issue effects all of samsung's "top of the range" 3D monitors 23 & 27 inch. google it
 
It's been over a week and I still haven't had a claim verified mail of Samsung.

I just took a screen grab of my order confirmation email as the woman I called there said that would be fine...

How do I ask OCs for a invoice email? Webnote?

very true & also games & movies look so damn beautiful on it. it is by far the best TN monitor i have ever seen,the image quality is so good its way better than our ips full hd led tv.
 
Been playing games for the last few hours, it really is beautiful. I have been doing the 2d-3d conversion in the menu and running lots of different games, Amnesia dark descent is very nice :D

Quick question, is there any difference between the 2d-3d conversion in the OSD and the Tridef game launcher? Or does it just provide the same image?

Ok just did a comparison, Supreme Commander 2 is MUCH better 3D in Tridef launcher than using then 2d-3d conversion in the OSD, but the tridef reduces frame rate by quite a bit. Was mega impressed with tridef SC2, my commander looked like he was popping out of my screen, made me try to touch him haha

Basically yes, but make sure you install the monitor windows driver etc.
I just connected the PS3 via hdmi and the PS3 automatically recognised the monitor as a 3d one and asked me to set the screen size.
I then ran uncharted 3 and turned on the 3d via the in game settings and got the "viewing 3d image" text on screen to confirm it was working.
Don't forget to change the display type from PC to AV via the monitor menu settings when you are using the hdmi output.

I thought the 3d effects were quite good but it felt strange to me because i am not used to it and would really need some time before my eyes and brain adjust to it.
But overall it is very easy and straight forward to setup for PS3 gaming.

In simple terms that is because TriDef tells the GPU to re-render each frame so you get an alternative frame for each eye. The 3D HyperReal conversion is all done on the monitor using depth cues - no extra strain on the GPU but not the same effect.
