From what i understood, he is a serious catholic, who stick to the catholic rules. Because of this, he won't have sex before being married. He also wants his wife to be a virgin, and follow the same principles as him (it might be that he might let it slip if she had very few sexual partners, like 1, but I did not 100% understand).
But pretty much yes, he is a virgin, and will have sex after he is married, because he is catholic.
Not judging anyone btw. Just said it as I understood it.

Let's face it, every bloke would love the thought of their woman not having been plowed in by some other gentlemens throbbing member.

Even if that 1 has had sex 5x a day for the past 10 years because that's better than someone who sleeps around every now and then

I've slept with 3 people my whole life, i much prefer long term relationships (but with loads of shagging in them)
My 1st i was with 10 years and we were each others firsts and married her, ended in divorce but that's another story.
2nd had 3 partners before me, and my current one has had one partner before me.
I don't think it is unreasonable for a person of either gender to accumulate 1 shag per year without being a bike as it where.
Being in a relationship with someone for 6 months but never having sex seems odd to me, so meeting a 30 year old with 14 notches in her bedpost wouldn't make me think any less of her.

If I was still a virgin after being with the same women for 8 years, well lets just say I wouldn't have stuck with her for 8 years if I wasn't getting any.

I think it depends a lot on how you are brought up, what you are exposed to (no, not like that... well, maybe 
) during puberty etc. Nobody in my family ever talked about sex, I didn't have the internet until I went to uni and I went to a single sex school so my views on the subject were largely shaped by the media; this idea that sex is a little bit taboo and that women in general don't sleep around much, that they'll always 'have their guard up' etc, that sex should be primarily confined to serious relationships.
I was once seeing a girl who'd had many more partners than I (she'd lost count) on a fairly casual basis and it was fun but I don't think it would have worked out in the long term... for several reasons though.

It took my interest away because:
1- I would like a degree of exclusivity. Me remaining sex free has not been easy, in fact it's been ****ing hard most of the time. I'm a red blooded male and Lord knows what I'm missing. However I do it, because it's something that someone will recognise as an issue of trust. The girl I sleep with will know (mainly because I'll be terrible apparently) that I've waited for her. Now that's my viewpoint and it's not fair or realistic to have something so "strict" for others, especially in this society. However there is a common level of trust, and I don't think I could have the piece of mind if someone had been sleeping around. Again, could have been different if she had been honest, who knows?
For goodness sake if you're going to remain a virgin until marriage at least do it for yourself, not for the trust of a future wife who may or may not give a toss about your virginity.
He's probably doing it for the only reason anybody would: the LORD.
