Prefer switching MSAA and AA post off and using the FXAA injector. Game looks awesome and FPS doesn't drop from 70's on my rig.

I now run without the injector, in ultra, post AA off, MSAA 4x.
At 2560x1440 the game looks amazing and with my 27" Dell monitor I having a gaming colour prefix which adds to the vibrancy much like the injector does

Also fixed at 60fps ^^

I was a bit of an M320 whore last night, sorry if I got you with that a lot.

It's ok scary, you have nothing on Locky (all with M320).

What graphics card do you have, and more importantly how is gameplay, smooth or stuttery? I can't get my system smooth, every 3/4 seconds I get a CPU spike. I think it has to do with SLI tbh...

Did love the FXAA except for what it does to text........horrific.

Back to stock now and loving it.

Going pro atm with everything on low and the googies off....Might just reapply some eye candy tonight tho

Do you play with vsync on?

Do you play with vsync on?

No. I get it with vsync on and off, with hyperthreading on and off.
Although when I put adaptive vsync on everything seems much smoother. I have not yet tested if I see the CPU spike then with the perfoverlay. But it's just, it shouldn't be spiking at all, when I have vsync off, that's actually the way I want to play, with vsync off.

The graph seems pretty okay and stable but just every 3 or 4 seconds I get the EXACT same cpu spike, it looks the same as well. Yesterday I've been kind of investigating it but I guess I'll have to test it with adaptive vsync on as well.

Changing the ForceRenderAhead no luck. Sometimes when I go into a server it takes like half a minute or so before the CPU spike begin. So it can be fine for a littlebit. It just always appears :)

I've also noticed that sometimes my CPU line becomes very unstable (larger spikes) when overlooking a big area, but it's very weird, the next time I go there it might not do it. I personally feel it has to do with SLI and the fact that my GPU's 'only' has 1.5GB.

I know people keep saying this gam is gpu bound, but a 5870 is not far off a 6950, and I'm wondering if an upgrade to a 3570k will net me any performance boost?

Should do. I came from a phenom 2 955 @ 4.2ghz to my i5 2500k @ 4.6ghz and have noticed a really good difference in BF3 and other games.

youll get a small boost

bf3 is gpu limited as shown many times http://www.techspot.com/review/448-battlefield-3-beta-performance/page7.html

when it first came out it showed a phenom even at stock would be identical near enough to a i2500k at 5 ghz.

not saying dont upgrade but a lot will say yeah big leap or whatever when basically youll get a few fps more maybe

you may get that much by slighltly overclocking your card or close.

depends on the money really .

your pc will handle any game of this year with ease (war fighter is just same thing really out in oct) so id wait atleast until then to see if it is more hungier or not before upgrading
