Do the really good pilots use joysticks? I'm slowly starting to get the hang of using a helicopter with the keyboard and mouse. Can safely fly, hover and circle but can't strafe yet. Nor always lock on a target.

Been practicing on empty servers for hours. Don't know whether to plug in the 360 pad for flying or stick to keyboard and mouse... or invest in a joystick in the future.
 
Anyone getting a lot of "disconnected from ea" errors in game? Started last night, anything from 10 -30 minutes into a round. This evening, im getting disconnected on load screen, or a few seconds into a round.

upnp disabled on router
Firewall and anti virus properly setup
Punk buster upto date.

Always get it. Cannot remember the last time I completed a round. Always disconnects from EA before it finishes

just move on tbh not saying that in a nasty way games **** anyway

try sniper elite v2 youll love that ;) plays floorless looks good and no bugs. quite a lot i know have got it very good game.
 
No decent pilot uses joysticks check my last 3-4 games from last night on my battlelog they was mostly jet whoring then the Caspian game Patsy got something like 70-1 as gunner and me as pilot in the viper and that's all flown with mouse keyboard! Its really easy once u know the maps and where to hide and use ya surroundings for cover!

Just go on an unranked server and practise or watch some YouTube videos that's how I learnt!

Ive thought about it tbh, lately it's been terrible, aside from the disconnects. When i do get into a round and play for any length of time, the warping and rubber banding is absolutely atrocious. A few months ago, the game was running pretty sweet, but with every update it just gets worse. I had far less issues in two years of bfbc2 compared to a few months of bf3.
 
I grabbed this game today and I have to say it's not blowing me away, mostly due to the fact it appears I was given rubber bullets. I will shoot someone, clearly get hit markers and then they will kill me in a nanosecond, it feels like I'm running around on 20% HP all the time. It like the worst lag compensation ever, I remember when having 15 ping was an advantage!

I'll keep plodding on though, although being level 3 at this point in the game isn't that enjoyable.
 
Matt's server is such a laggy pos for me, m320's doing no damage... Rubber bullets.. Knifing that doesn't work. Yet an RPG fired at the wall on the other side is instant KO, it Has been like this for a long time, the main reason i rarely play on that server.

Join another server and it's fine
 
A quick note for people.

I've always been fine running my system with a 250 Initial 500MB Max page file. After thinking about the "Game Session Removed from server" disconnect errors I was frequently getting and almost always near the ends of rounds I figured "Hey, pagefile usage is a game of attrition of sorts, screw it - I'll up it and see"

I doubled it to 1,000MB Max and have not had the Game Session removed error since.

Coincidence? Perhaps. Do I care? Not as long as I continue to avoid that ridiculous error. Worth trying if you are getting it also and seeing.

It seems BF3 is very very very fussy about pagefile in many aspects of it's operation.

utter BS Neil.... been on there all day, its always full and not once have i heard people saying its laggy. get better skills

The problems not with the game man, mine runs with no issues what so ever.

Maybe investigate your computer configuration?
