***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Like others have mentioned, if I was in the market for a new phone today I'd be toying between the S3 and HTC One X, maybe even the HTC One S as well.

If I didn't have a One X I'm not sure what I'd do.

If this phone looked awesome and the screen holds up fairly well against the IPS LCD2 on the X, then it would be an easier decision in favour of the S3 for me at least.

The Wolfson DAC is great news but I've been surprised by how good the audio on the One X is, I'd written it off before I tried it and it's actually iPhone~ quality. Which is fine.

Ultimately you can't go far wrong with either for real use, they are both outrageously good from a technical perspective.

Freefaller might:p:D

But yeh its a bit of a silly ad in all honesty...dont think many people will be skydiving and taking pics with a One X:p:D

Suddenly... you drop it...

Damn. :D

I see. Well i read a TechRadar review saying they can't justify the S3 over the One X because it's likely to be £10 more on contracts for a while. If that's the case, i can't justify it either.

It will be interesting to see how the audio stacks up to the one series as gsmarena and a few other sites have stated that the "S" has the best audio they have ever heard on a phone, not sure if the X is the same...........would imagine so though since there quite similar regarding camera etc.

I imagine the gs 3 will be better though.

And woah. O2 seems to be much cheaper on the One X aswell. I thought Orange and O2 prices were similar. Switching to O2 no doubt unless Orange will match their much lower price.

That really is awesome. And there's no chance in finding an S3 deal as good as that to within £10 i'd imagine?

I think with my Galaxy S i average around 50 minutes a month, but i got 300 mins to cover myself if i were to go over (which could easily happen). I wouldn't want to go over 100 minutes and then have loads of charges i can't afford.

Its like i was saying in the One X that i was quite simply blown away by the audio capabilities of the One X...it really is superb and i find it just that little bit better than my iphone4. Saying that the S3 with the Wolfson DAC will be good audio wise but other than that, i cant see myself ditching the One X for the S3...im just not liking the look of it. I was hoping that it would be made of premium materials ie something like brushed alu or ceramic.

Ill definitely be looking at one when they are released to the public though, at first i wasnt too sure about the One X but once i had it in my hand, i was pretty much set on getting it.

Will be picking this up on the one plan from 3.£34 per month no upfront costdeduct the sum free price of the phone from the contract and it works out at £13

Done deal

This has more minutes and comes to £30/month with the cashback: http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobi...O2-300-(24mths)-Internet-All-Rounder/13732977

Mobiles.co.uk have their prices up now: http://www.mobiles.co.uk/vodafone-s...4Y-M2167&PHPSESSID=5g2pdgtckr5f1lthunagq0ke73

You're basically looking at £30/month vs £21/month. 300 mins O2 on the X brings it up to £27, so it's closer.

Can anyone here tell me why they are going for the S3 over the One X, beyond personal preference?

I'm terrible at making these decisions, was set on the X, but then last night has made me reconsider. In my opinion, the S3 is nowhere near as good looking as I'd hoped, by comparison to the Nexus and the S2. But everyone still seems to be saying they are getting one. I know people have different opinions on style, but I just wanted to make sure I haven't missed something big?

Storage space isn't really a concern. I love the AMOLED screen on my Desire, but thought the X screen was incredible instore.

Cheers Robbo, been a huge help. You make it sound like me getting a One X is a no brainer considering the money i'd save and the minimal differences between the phones.

Here's to hoping mobiles.co.uk ring me today and i'll tell them i want my contract ended and i'm moving to buymobiles for that O2 deal unless they can offer better.

Interestingly Buymobiles lists a number of One Plan tariffs for 3, but there is only 1.

The handset on 3 is only a 16GB though - they have said they were told 32GB and 64GB wont be released until the end of the year...... yet Vodafone claim they'll be stocking the 32GB . Who to believe??
