Fanatec do seem to make good wheels, and although it seems like it might be getting better the thing that has always put me off is far too many reports of both shoddy build quality and terrible customer service, quite a lot of money to spend if either of those crops up, at least with Logitech you're pretty much guaranteed good customer service...

saying that the t500 is the wheel i want right now but dont want to buy 1 as im paying for pedals i dont need...

with logitech there rock solid aswell...

how is the t500 in iracing barmy???

One thing that was happening to me when I first started playing was the application loosing my brake pedal and clutch range, id go into T1 press the pedal 1mm and it would lock the brakes.
Had me stumped till I read something on the forums. Does anyone else get this ? I'm using a G25 and it happens every time I reload the application.

Yes, I used to get that bug with my G27 pedals. I bought a Leo Bodnar cable (http://www.leobodnar.com/products/DFPG25conn/) which solved the problem. It increases the resolution of the pedals too.

I have no idea if it's possible to solve the issue without one of these cables. There's a few posts around suggesting it might be linked to having the wheel plugged in when you boot up the PC?

I know what you mean and it was a concern when I went the Fanatec route, I have seen in recent times they've improve their quality control and customer support - early days they sounded a bit hit n' miss!

I felt the risk was worth it as I'd exhausted the Logitech route and whilst happy with their G25 and G27 I always took them as just that, satisfactory and reasonable, but wanted more.

We'll see how well they last (still have my Logitech in reserve).

the build quality of current fanatec wheels is awful (i have owned a 911 Turbo S, GT2 and GT3 Rs), this might change with the CSW which is due out in the next month or so.

had what i thought was a good race yesterday and made a few overtakes.
i had 2 off tracks from going slightly wide but nothing that slowed me down and 2 collisions with only one beeing my fault

someone rammed me out in turn 1 but i get penalised....
the second was at turn 1 again and i went into the back of some guy but only just.. i was only doing about 1mph more than him and we both carried on around the corner fine.

i started 10th and finished 5th but lose 2 rating :( really disapointing as it was one of the cleanest races ive had so far , ive had far worse and still gained rating.

i guess its time to stop racing , start from the pits and stay out of everyones way......

From what i gather , been told and have read it is based on how many corners you have done incident free that affects your safety rating. if thats what you are talking about m8

On a side note missing racing atm as in middle of pc upgrade and w8ing on a new ssd comming , but hopefully my 3 monitor setup will be here by then as well :) hmm think ill need a bigger room,,lol

i just did TT's yesterday and always gained +3-5 rating

ill stay away from races until there are less ***** like the ones that have an off and then park there car side ways across the track and sit there for 5minutes..... or the ***** that drive back onto the track without making sure theres no cars coming

or the **** that i had a race with the other night at LRP

started from GRID @ LRP  then came 1st corner , guy infront of me spins to my left / infront of me , i proceed forward like you do in the process he became a casualty  , anyways after that i have a good 5 laps then comming down the straight i overtake a car doing about 15mph as i am beside him he rams me and knocks me fying into the air which i was doing like 100 mph , needless to say that was the "kid" that i had exchanged paint with at the 1st corner.

Well I have been playing with a 'naughty' version of this game and the build stamp would indicate that it's about 3 years old and wow, the feel and immersion that you get through the wheel is simply way ahead of anything I have ever played. The Radical + Lime Rock = happy times indeed.

How far has this come along since then? I still don't think I would play it enough to warrant purchasing it though. :(

I'd imagine the back to back differences between 3 years ago and now would be pretty vast (although the track itself is the same afaik, probably the car model as well, driver hands are new), but the Radical especially has had the 'New' tyre model for just over a season now and it's completely transformed the handling from back then, and it's great :D

New tyre model, new gfx affects, sounds i'd say its a lot better now than it was 3 years ago.

The Radical is drastically better, the 3 year old version isn't anywhere near realistic!

In 3 years there must have been what, 20+ updates to iRacing? Different game now!

I can't defend how expensive iRacing *can* get, but there's really no excuse for not trying one of the cheap introductory offers if you enjoy sims. And these days it doesn't have to be *too* expensive if you can be patient and rational with your purchases.

It's not a good place for impulsive people though. It can get very expensive very quickly. I used to think I had excellent willpower until I joined.

Anyone in here on the look out for a set of clubsport pedals + tuning kit or speedmaster?

CSR-E has already gone... I really lost interest in this :(

As an aside... if anyone wants to use my iracing account, which I bought quite a bit of content for... let me know :)
