President Obama Endorses Gay Marriage

http://c4m.org.uk/

I have proudly signed.
You're proud to be a bigot and to discriminate people in society based on their natural sexuality?

You're proud that you're stopping same-sex couples enjoying the same rights and freedoms as anyone else, even though it has absolutely zero impact on your life and your own rights?

You're proud that you have just made an effort to perpetuate exclusion and the misery of a few, by hoping to prevent a small extension of deserved rights which don't affect you in any way?

You're proud about your pathetically petty bigotry?

I don't think you like the fact that some people have a different opinion to you, grow up mate and accept it.

Nothing wrong with a different opinion. If you don't accept gay marriage, that is fine :).

I'm indifferent towards it, but if two same sex people wish to marry, it has no effect on me and I don't see why they shouldn't.

Are you saying you don't agree with gay marriage and don't want it, or just you don't agree with gay marriage but what others do is up to them as long as it doesn't interfere with your life?

If the former, other than you disagree with it or find it sick, which is fine by me, could you give some other reasons as to why two people, consenting, should not marry?

Same sentiment.

Spankingtexan, could you please answer my previous post, thank you very much :).

Perhaps some stats, facts, reports, as to how this will be the end of us all? Or how it could ruin your life? If this is the case, if people's lives will be ruined or degraded by it, or society as well, I'd happily change my mind if gay marriage is a bad thing, providing the evidence is through logic and reasoning.

People should ignore the obvious trolling. Someone who posts statements and doesnt engage in any sort of conversation except to stir up arguments is obviously not worth the time and effort here.

Their aim is probably to close the thread.

You are very angry people aren't you, i just don't think same sex marriage is good, it is my opinion so that is fine. Please do not continue to insult those who don't share your opinions or beliefs.

And as I've said, that's fine :).

Do you think the government should not allow it then?

I think religion is not good. The government should allow it. Doesn't infringe on my life.

Tolerance.

Good point.

I'd like to commend this response I received earlier. Most rational post I've seen from 'the other side' to the debate :).

I don't have a counter argument, and I am a Christian. :p In fact, i am more of the counter-counter argument persuasion. When the bible speaks out about 'sexual immorality' its talking about casual sex outside of a marriage/relationship. In the context of homosexuality, it has more to do with condemning men sharking in public toilets than same sex individuals in a committed relationship. Or one-night stands in a heterosexual, going out looking for some fun (Been there done that). Sadly, many preachers and non-preachers, christians and non-christians alike are too blinded by their own prejudice and irrational fear, and only see what they want to see, not what is actually there.

Then we have to ask ourselves what is 'marriage' anyway, as over time and cultural shifts the goal posts are CONSTANTLY changing as the word redefines itself. Today, people marry for 'love'. We only have to go back a little over a century in to the Victorian age:

As we go further back, women are married off younger and younger often for political games and political gains. (See Marriage of State)

How we can possibly compare the norm of today to the norm of ages past and arrive at the conclusion 'gay marriage is definitely out' is beyond me and does not hold up to scrutiny.

Making Gay Marriage legal can only lead to more gay people (which is most certainly not normal)

What happened when we made massive clothes for extremely fat people? More people got extremely fat thats what.....

Joking aside, I am gay and I for one support this with full force, there is nothing wrong with liking a penis up the pooper
