He was the club ambassador at the time, he was expected to be around! The fans only turned to him because they did not want Hodgson. If another manager had been appointed at the time it is unlikely there would have been such a problem.

i know he was the club ambassador at the time, my point was it would have been better for him to have removed himself from the club once hodgson had been chosen.

with him in the background there was no way hodgson was going to be given a fair chance.

I think that Carroll could do a good job. But he didn't get enough chances this season.

All I keep hearing is how Suarez is brilliant. Thats gotta be a pretty good strikeforce...?

They bought poorly IMO. Downing & Henderson have just been terrible for 20mil a pop. Adam has been a let down too.

Yep, got to be Benitez or Martinez. Though I'd be surprised if he is actually sacked, despite FSG saying it would be a "major disappointment" if we didn't get Champions league. That said, Kenny has taken responsibility for our dire signings and if he goes, I believe they will be a major factor in his dismissal/resignation.
