I slow down to try to let people pass... Sometimes I tap the brakes to scare them off, though my wife has had someone road rage at her and come up and bang on her window and mouth off at the next set of lights for doing this.
small dot treatment is good, but i doubt it makes these people understand what theyre doing
they are probably posting on a forum now about they follow morons who insist on driving like nutters booting it everywhere.

Various people in this thread said:I don't like that you slow down as a reaction to tailgaters!
*Cold eyed stare*
"Tough"

There's a car that goes around here that has the bumper sticker "my brakes are good, is your insurance"
I do this. I'm not ruining my suspension for anyone.

I'm surprised it took that for you to realise brake testing people isn't a great idea.
Odd how he didn't overtake but, for doing significantly under the limit what did you bloody expect ?so i carried on at 30mph in both the 60mph limited section and then 30mph in the 40mph section and then to be on the safe side with me living on a busy estate i slowed to 20mph even though its still legal to do 30mph.
Again though, why he wouldn't overtake is a mystery, usually the ones on your bumper are eager to overtake as soon as they get the chance.
30mph @ 60 mph limit is quite frankly disgusting behavior. (imho)
Just ignore it?
In the scenario the OP describes, if he has to perform an emergency stop at 60, he IS going to get rear ended. At 30, the risk is massivley reduced, both of the accident happening and the damage taken if it does.
So, basically, refusing to accept the risk of a very serious accident, a risk that someone else is causing, in order to travel faster is disgusting behavior? Remind me never to get in a car with you...
Because on average you do many emergency stops per day ?

snowdog said:Yes it is disgusting behaviour, which is punishable here (wonder if there's a similar law in the UK) with ''article 5'' ( hindering traffic ) and people with extreme low speeds like this have been fined or even lost their license before for causing danger. You could also easily consider 30@ 60mph as provocation. Others don't expect people to do 30 mph in a 60 mph zone.
