Tom, I really don't think this is a problem with Blizzard, your the only person I have seen having any stuttering issues.. Was absolutely fine for me last night and this morning, and everyone elses seems to be ok?

Create a new char, put CE items in your stash, log onto previously created char, collect goodies from stash. Delete other char you used to get goodies. Rinse, repeat :)

About 200-300MS. My region selection in settings says Europe.

I had this the first night also. Are you using AMD drivers? If you updated to 12.4 (I think) there is a new 12.4a edition out to fix issues with some games, which fixed the stutter for me. Haven't had any problems since. There is actually a sticky on the official Diablo technical support forums with a direct link to the drivers. Think the sticky is called something along the lines of 'solutions to common problems' or something (cant check as I'm at work)

The 12.4a drivers aren't for my card though, they only fix issues for a certain series of cards. Mines a 5850 which no listed fixes.

Lol... I guess you haven't looked at the Diablo forums then. :eek:

A few other people from here are having the same issue as me aswell.
 
In the middle of university exams atm so I haven't bought Diablo 3, but I really want to play! Will either be a Monk or a Barbarian to start out with. Monk looks fun but Barb seems like more of a solid choice.

Anyone have a guest pass that they won't be using I'd really appreciate it.

Yup, in other games my MS is much lower. Stuttering doesn't happen after midnight as said.

I'm still saying it's something server side as when it gets late I can play without issue!
 
Ping seems very high to me, have you tried running a traceroute to the servers, if their IP's are available? Might be something in the connection causing the problem, which calms down once the servers are quieter. Probably being routed via outer mongolia or something.
 
I'm having the load asset problem now aswell, when ever a new event loads i.e new sound, new mob spawning, I get a split second lag spike which hadn't been happening before.

Apparently these problems existed in the BETA which Blizzard said they'd fixed in the retail release.

If it was server side then everyone would be getting the issue.

I've never had the stuttering, even when its been a struggle to get online.

Its clearly your PC config/ISP Network Config and the client arent getting along.

Short of the damage numbers not really. But you should hopefully be able to work that out.

My current dps is 493 (with an attack rate of 1.82) so in theory I should be able to get approx 750 dps from Disintegrate and that seems to be reasonably accurate when it ticks for about 400.

Does that ever go any other way? Particularly with 'easy' content? Its too easy to just waltz off and solo stuff when you're playing public.

Can also confirm this works, I had a little rage to myself about this yesterday, thought I'd give it ago and all items are account bound :)

I'm using this build: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#aZSjYT!dWe!aZaabZ

Darts: single tagert/low mana skill, Pets: support, Locust swarm and grasp: "aoe" damage, slow down, Mass Confusion: "oh ****" button, works great when you have too many packs of elites etc.

I chose Pierce the Veil passive as this is a relatively low mana cost builld, and therefore the 20% damage boost from it is very effective.

Locust swarm is the real key here, it can spread exponentially given enough mobs. Any strays can be easily killed with darts/pets.
