to stop cheating on your character when you use it in open games

but they could have built in an extra single player only bit :(
 
At least this form of DRM is actually working for it's intended purpose. There is no way to pirate Diablo 3, at all. Until somebody hosts a private server.
 
My main problem with it being hosted online is the fact that you end up with lag. Surely they could have made the gameplay instanced on your machine (or if you do co-op on lan) whilst using the online side to just keep track of stuff?
Then again I suppose this way it saves having to open ports on your router to host games...
 
There will be a massive level of redundancy and backups. Same as with any MMO / game that keeps track of everything online.
Imagine they have to just to avoid court cases over it :p

Yes because US and Asia will never have a downtime at some point when the game is up for us...
 
Anyone here on inferno with a barbarian?

All I keep hearing and reading is that they're utter useless, which isn't great news having just spent near to 40 hours getting mine to near 60..
 
I wouldnt say useless, just more gear dependant perhaps since they gotta come up close.
Where are you now anyways? Wanna join me and anksy? We're at the last boss of act 2 Hell.
If u're further tho we can just join i dont mind skipping, actually fed up with act 2 which took me years already.

Barbarian is the first class to clear Inferno solo!

Edit: I am so wrong, dunno where i got that info from lol, it was wizard that cleared it solo.

There are a lot of elites that have AoE skills which makes Barb probably really hard. I don't think they have the CC like Wiz has.
