It's a cashcow, nothing more really.

Diablo 2 had a ton of 3rd party trading and a huge number of people got caught up in scams because of it.

Blizzard are implementing a service that would have been done outside of the game anyway, but giving players a safe way to go about it. It's not like they've sat there dreaming up new inventive ways to milk their player base, the RMAH was going to exist in one form or another anyway, with or without Blizzard having control.

Sure they take a share, but the third party sites did/would anyway.

If you've already killed him once, maybe the game doesn't recognise a need to kill him, so his spawning is random...

Actually that's rubbish tbh, nice bug :p xD

Also, it cannot just be me that noticed the huge leap in difficulty from pre-maghda to post-maghda?

kd

For some reason I got the achievement for killing Diablo when he was at like 25% health, when he *actually* died, I was still able to attack his body for a good 30 seconds before the cutscene came in.

Just sounds like the boss encounter.

You defeat him, but then you have to "destroy" him, which is essentially just you beating on his lifeless body until the cut scene rolls.

I've only just started using the AH properly for selling things and I'm making a fair bit of money.

I could kick myself thinking back of all the items I've vendored when I could have gotten lots more!

HOW ARE PEOPLE MAKING MONEY ON THE AH? :(

I sell the rubbish stuff in game, but the semi decent stuff I put up normally at a starting price of 500. I've tried no buyout price, or low buyout prices, it just seems no one actually buys it.

I think I've sold maybe 3/4 items on the AH...

not a clue. don't think I've managed to sell a single item on the AH so far.

most things I've bought have been at very low prices (about 2x the vendor price) so not sure why people are even bothering with it

Yeah I just whack all the rares up for 1-5k sold loads now.

Most people over price their stuff so they don't sell. Found some absolute bargains on there too.

I sold a rare enchantress token today for about 2k... worse ones in the AH have been fetching 500k. Felt like a right fool :( Got another one today, that's got a buyout price of 1m. Figured why the hell not, it's only one slot that's being taken up xD

I've sold a few items for 100k. I only really put items with good stats on it, they seem to sell. Bad items don't in my experience.

Yeah, I just never know what's a good item for other people. Because I haven't played any other class apart from Barb yet, I don't know what they might value xD

kd

Look for items with:

High DPS
Socketed
+All Resistance
+Life Steal
+Life on Hit
+Primary stats
+Vitality
+Damage
+Critical Chance
+Critical Damage
+Attack Speed
+Magic Find
+Gold Find

As many of those as you can.

I haven't really sold anything for any more than 30k I don't think. I wouldn't be surprised if I've vendered an item worth over 100k before though. :p

Anyone want to help me play through nightmare difficulty? On Act 2, finding Kulle's head. Really want to get to inferno a.s.a.p.

BattleTag: valkynaz#2741

my mate and i are currently in the same act on nightmare, i play as monk, hes a barb.

we are currently on a break and will be back in 20mins, you're free to join.

although we don't really rush it, we just fight blue/yellow mobs and move on.

So just finished normal mode, better late than never :D
Had just started act 4 and had my first Legendary drop from a random mob, Was a huge upgrade for me too so that was awesome.
Chucked some gem's in it swapped around some other gear and i was running around act 4 as a monk with 393 DPS.

Now onto Nightmare !

I'm still on first run through and just hit Act III but my Barbarian just feels like a walking death machine, he simply cannot die !!

Mostly full legendary gear with a green chest piece and he's walking around with over 5k HP using sword 'n' board. Using Weapon Master and Ruthless the crit's are silly and the self-heals can easily hit over 3k.

DIII could possibly become the most addictive game ever :p
