The guy who played Gregor in the first series claimed it wasn't anything to do with schedule clashes they just made a decision to replace him with a 'better' actor as there were more speaking parts in this series. Was quite upset about it iirc

I was looking forward to being able to reprise the role for season 02, but it seems like HBO decided to go in a different direction for the 2nd season and I will not be playing Ser Gregor this time around which is a pity.

Of course, if I were asked to appear in season 03 I would be very excited to do so.


P.S. I wish Ian Whyte all the best in this role, the more big guys known to be working in movies, then the more roles that will be written for us - meaning more work for all of us.

There have been a few comments from GRRM and others involved that they wanted to be able to do a 12 episode series but can't get the funding from HBO for it...cmon HBO do it for season 3!
 
How can HBO not give the funding for what is probably going to be one of their best received programmes out there? :confused: :(

p.s. Lets see if we can do it this week guys as only 15 hours to wait :)
 
Can't wait!! Penultimate episodes are always like the season finales on HBO shows. Also tonight's episode is written by the author and his season 1 episode was my favorite. Given all the action that's promised hopes are very high indeed!!

Ive read a few comments online saying that this episode is quite simply THE best episode so far from either series.

My god im so looking forward to it.

Also +1 to changing Gregor Glegane back to the other chap, this new lanky dude just is not right, my 6 year old son could take him out!

I'm not sure they would do that, just fire the new guy because the old one is free again.

Still, i remember seeing something recently where the other guy said it wasn't anything to do with schedule clashes, they just wanted a better actor :confused:
