Nice shot. What body do you use?
I was looking at this lens too as an alternative to the Canon version which is about twice the price!
Optically is it any different to the older non OS version Sigma did? I've seen a used one of this.

hi,

sorry for not replying quickly.

5dII, and it is optically different (better) according to the reviews.

I bet you don't open Christmas presents until after tea either? :p
I that was me I would have torn through the outer packaging as soon as I signed for it, carefully opened the actual box, and praying the battery had enough juice to ring off a few shot's...

This thing is so complicated, I am having to resort to the manual!

It has taken me 10 minutes to figure out how to switch to see the SD card.

Haha oh dear :p The autofocus system is meant to be very hard to master from what I've read so I look forward to seeing how you get on with it and if you feel it was worth the jump from the mk ii.

It took me another 10 mins to figure out to set both cards to record different file types! lol

Kinda get the AF, i got it set to only show crossed type points (so no fooling myself), and have a mini group i can move around.

Got a birthday thing i am going on Saturday, might take it on a day out. Just insured it now too so it's all systems go !

Who did you insure it with mate? Same with who did you insure your previous camera with? Just realised my camera isn't insured yet which is a bit dumb with £1700 worth of body :S

Just realise i have not added the following yet.

Pocket Wizard triggers and receivers - £500.
Tripods & Monopod - £400
Lightstands - £200

I also removed the 30D and its grip from the list now as it never leave the house, the Sigma 70-200 2.8 is left off too as I don't take that to weddings.
