Stuck on rakinoth inferno atm. There appears to be no predictability in his phases and I simply run out of defensive cooldowns to pop against him. Even zerging him with Earthquake and Wrath doesn't work :(

I'm going to try EF with 2 disc rune for backflip (with Tactical Advantage). Can't afford the discipline cost of SS to keep distance from fast elites. I'm only using HA to break containers anyway it seems, with bat and crossbow (slow ROF) never really run out of Hatred for NT

I disagree. And I've seen several other people using EF in inferno builds without issue. :)

You seem to think I'm saying EF is the be-all and end all and only viable primary skill (like you're trying to do..). I'm not, and I was offering someone a build that I had used with success for hell difficulty (with justification, not just "all others are ****").

It works fine for me. I don't know why you're trying to ram your build and opinion down my throat?

From what I could see from scanning those links is that only one of them is actually in Act 3-4. That doesn't make it good (edit: Or bad, mind)

I'm not at all. I'm simply saying that Evasive Fire isn't very good. And that's not an opinion. Just like Smoke Screen is necessary. That isn't an opinion. That's just the truth with the game the way it is in Inferno.

It works fine for you, in Hell. My point is that there are plenty of better abilities out there.

I'm not ramming 'my build' or opinion down your throat. I'm pointing out flaws in advice that is being given to people. I'm not forcing you to switch it out. If you like it, then fine.

It's just that Inferno Act 2 forces you to essentially survive by avoiding and running away and in an ideal scenario, backflipping away to avoid attacks might seem great, but chances are when the enemies are close enough for you to backflip away, you're more than likely to get hit and die. Or you get snared. Or rushed. If you somehow manage to backflip away, you have no real control over it, you may end up backflipping into a group of enemies or aggroing another group, and the last thing you need is to burn through precious discipline when you need it to SS out of there. Vault would be a much better option as you have complete control over it.

But hey ho. If you're enjoying it, and you can make it work better than the other options in Inferno, then good on you and have fun with it.

Well I think you're both idiots. Elemental Arrow -> Ball Lightning all the way

But anyway. I've done very well without a primary skill since some time in Nightmare when I found I didn't really need to bother using it. Ball Lightning works as my AoE skill (maybe I need to try Nether Tentacles again, I didn't really find it useful when I unlocked it) and my build works on the basis that dps means absolutely jack **** if you spend most of your time running away, so I've worked on maxing single hit damage for spike trap and impale.

I really hope Smoke Screens ability to break Jailer is removed, that or such a benefit is added to ALL the DHs evasive skills. Until something is done to correct that obvious imbalance, Smoke Screen is always going to have some necessity on a DHs build late game. I've got partway through Act 2 Inferno without it but Vault has shown itself to be absolutely useless against those damn serpents.

As far as I'm aware Ball Lightning only hits for a reduced amount after the first hit? NT hits more than once (sometimes) too. So do you have no hatred regen? Do you rely on passives/companion/mark for your hatred regen?

As for SS, I think it'll be okay once they tweak damage in Inferno and make it less spiky after Act 1. I don't know how they'll manage it, but right now where it's so vital, nerfing it is only going to make Demon Hunters more useless.

Hey guys, this might seem like a daft question, but is there a demo or trial or something I can play of Diablo? Haven't played any Diablo game since the original and wouldn't mind trying it before deciding whether to drop £45 on it. :)

IF anyone has a spare demo code for my brother in law that would be helpful, He has watched me play a bit and is keen on trying it too.

I didnt get a code to give away as i bought a digital copy.

Its crazy that I still can not find this in stock in any shops here in Ireland. Went in to shops in Dublin and Cork today and nothing. 60 euro seems like a lot of money for a serial number directly from Blizzard. I am rather fond of my boxes.. A tough choice at the moment! :P

Could someone please explain to me what farming & stacking is please?:o

Farming is like grinding. Doing stuff repetitively like the same area to try and get a certain drop or lots of gold.

Stacking is like getting more NV buffs to use for a certain purpose like farming bosses.

Legendary #4

So much fail

I'm having some really frustrating performance anomalies today... about half the time when a new area is loaded, it flickers then returns with about 10-15FPS... making it unplayable - only way to get it back to normal is to restart the game :(

Has there been a patch since yesterday??

If it does this, it is a) not very well advertised and b) pretty stupid. I haven't noticed anything to suggest it hits for less after the initial hit and if anyone had actually used Ball Lightning they would know, just like Nether Tentacle, it has the potential to hit the same target multiple times. I may try out Nether Tentacle again but my experience so far with Act 2 is if I get hit I die so what use is life steal?

And no I don't bother with hatred generating attacks. Bat Companion + Templar + equipment has given me 8.6 ish (and my gear is extremely poor and in dire need of an upgrade). I am finding many occasions where I start to run low on Hatred lately but I think this is more due to my terrible equipment meaning that Ball Lightning/Impale/Caltrops aren't doing enough damage so I use more than necessary.
